Jack Clarke

I know everyone is frightened and confused, they thought Jack loved them and they want their mammies, but haway man it's the day of a match and there's already several f***ing threads on the subject.

Fuck him.
He's gone.
Hope his career drops like a f***ing stone.
Never trust a f***ing Yorkshireman.
Copper wire was invented by 2 Yorkshiremen fighting over a penny.

Thought he'd think twice having chased the money once and seen his career stall.

It appears that you can take the Yorkshireman out of Yorkshire, but you cant take the moneygrabbing Yorkshire out of the Yorkshireman.

Greedy cooooont will crash and burn.
Bang out of order.

I think we have to hope clarke excels and gets a move straight away, or Ipswich get relegated and he wants to be back in the prem and be allowed to leave

Why as long as we can though? If no-one pays what we want then he stays.
What if the lad wants to leave ? Is anyone taking this into account ?
We can continue to keep a player who is unhappy at the club but that never works .
I wanted the lad to stay and I'm gutted he is leaving but the reaction had been utterly ridiculous.

From what I read, the club, had little option as there was no other interested parties and his value would have plummeted as we moved forward. I still think I’d have rather kept him but hey ho.
Even with 1 year left on his contract we would have got 12m to 15m for him and his contribution to us this season would have been worth losing a few million for.

No one can put a good spin on this deal, it's absolutely atrocious.

To fans the fee makes no odds whatsoever. Especially trying to do what SAFc is trying to do. Point is we only pay small fees for up and coming players and try to turn them into multi million £ assets. Exactly the case here. If we got 40m for Clarke we wouldn’t be buying expensive players.

Ipswich and the like wil only over extend themselves trying to stay in the promised land, but is it worth it? The merry go round will unravel at sone point, like is happening in France with Bordeaux going bust.

How ? If nobody wants to spend more than that now, how can we get it in 12 months time ?
It’s a crap deal btw, I’m not defending the club.

Our self sustainability model appears to be working. Whether we like it or not.
Yes, but do you like it? It's not for our benefit, of that you can be sure! Of benefit to the owner, probably, but not of any use to us, the fans who actually care about the club - in fact, scrap that, our interest is even more focused, we want to see successful, good football played by our team, and if that can't be achieved we at least want to see winning football!

Sustainability is a business notion and is not about football or entertainment. It is never going to stimulate the fans, and people need to stop pretending that a focus on sustainability is acceptable - nobody ever turns up to watch the balance sheet!

People will bleat on about PL football and wages but ultimately Clarke is going to a smaller club. He spent his early career being passed from pillar to post and landed at a big club with a fan base that adored him. He's chosen to leave so good luck to him but Ipswich fans won't love him as much as we did and that's a hill I'll die on.
