Someone made a good point earlier, the amount his value may decrease over the season due to only having one less year on his contract, will be offset by: a. Having a better chance of finishing top 6, and b. The rest of the players value will increase a lot by having him in the team. For example Jobe makes a simple pass out wide and Clarke skins 3 men and curls one in......another assist for Jobe's impressive stats when we come to cash in in him.

This will be the first sale (if it happens) that's made me properly disappointed in a long long long time, probably since Kaboul went to Watford. Was a bit disappointed when Stewart left last year but even in that you knew it made sense. We were never gonna keep hold of Pickford etc so wasn't that bad when he left.

Haway Jack lad, they're not gonna have a left back with hair as great as Dennis Cirkin. Worth another year surely.

BUT at some point this cliched "model" is going to be tested via selling one of our best players for big bucks, having bought them reasonably cheap.

If this is one of them then lets get maximum money for him. I would be surprised if the club are signing the 2 lads mentioned with no outgoings.

Quite.

It happened with Stewart which I think the club got pretty spot on & a good sale for.

It will happen again, whether it's Clarke or somebody else now or in the future
