Ivan Toney

Hes basically joint England number 2 striker with Watkins behind Kane. Anything happens to Kane then Toney could easily be starting for England. World cup is less then 2 Years away. Madness! Surely he could of got a move to a better premiership club for 2/3 years then got that move to Saudi when he was 31/32

You’d think he’s just kissed goodbye to his England career.

Definitely mate, I no he will he on astronomical money over there but surely he had at least 2-3 years in the premier left in him. Coming into his prime aswell. All that hardwork to get to where hes got to and it looks like ge taking the wrong route. That Saudi move could still of been there in 2-3 year time

The premier league and sky created this monster years ago. The Saudis are just doing what the premier league has done to foreign leagues all over the world, offering players mega money to up sticks.
That’s true but like china it won’t last

Surprised more don't go the way Toney has gone. There'll be a deluge soon. Easy to be cynical but I think the pull of a triple wage boost swamps the pull of international caps and trophies for most players.

What a finish this was! He's proving he's a great player in this ultra competitive league.

Got to love the tag line from the Saudi twitter "precision for a beautiful opener" 😂

The standard is appalling like.
Jhon Duran scored a goal over there recently that was getting loads of attention. He “ran” from the half way line before scoring. He barely got past walking pace as he eased his way past defenders.

Every time a clip of Ronaldo goes viral for scoring over there it’s similarly painful to watch. A shameful way for him to see out his career.

You can just make out the ref's whistle shortly before the ball crosses the line from Toney's effort so the officials have decided it's an OG. Either way. you'd think the league would try to hide this rather than promote it.

Agree about Duran, the defending was appalling and he was just knocking the ball around defenders who can’t defend, and running onto it.

Ronaldo is 40 though, testament to him still doing what he loves at that age. He couldn’t do it week in week out no more in the top leagues so plays in Saudi, get paid ridiculously and saves himself for Portugal. If you’re going to go to Saudi and take the money do it at the end of your career.

The MLS is light years ahead of the Saudi league. And the standard is America isn't that good. Yet players and coaches going to Saudi Arabia are saying it's as good Ligue 1!!!
