Italian Football

Heading to Roma Lazio in a month or so, should be lively. Anyone done a game over there?
Went to Fiorentina V Lazio in around 1997 (Italian footballs heyday - Batigol, Rui Costa, Vieri, Ericsson managing). Also went to Juve V Milan in 2004 (more or less title decider and the match after the scooter throwing). Going to Pisa V Genoa on Sunday, which is a whole lot less glamorous. Best thing is it’s scorching hot and you can drink in the stands. 🍻

There must be money there because Juve etc still sign some decent / expensive players ..

BUT . . they seem to pay over the odds for really average players

Gone are the days when Maradona, the Real Ronaldo, Half the German World Cup Winning Team, Half the Dutch Team who really should have won it ... etc were playing in it
Remember when Juve had all those France internationals. Platini, Zidane, Deschamps, Thuram, Trezeguet. Even had Thierry Henry for a bit.

They play each other in the SF
Booooooo
Roma v Fiorentina. The decline of Italian football had already started. Totty was in his early 30s and nivver moved from centre circle but still had the touch. Slotted Vlahovich (?) through thee middle with a superb pass. Otherwise it was a very boring game. Crowd very well dressed.

Done the Coppa Italia final a few years ago. Be prepared to either walk back to your digs after the game or at least walk a good chunk of the way (if staying in central Rome), queues for buses etc are mad & taxis will be near impossible to come by after a big game.

Sorry. I can't say anything about it. I haven't watched this Champions League crap for ages. Who wants to watch the same six teams over and over again? It would have been perfect if we could have let these teams go into their "Super League." The Spanish clubs should pay their debts first, then the administrator can take care of the rest.

done a few in 1990s

Milan derby- class , Maldini and Baresi still playing for AC
Rome derby- class- Roma fans loud, got beat 1-0 though, didnt realise in all the commotion after Signori scored he got sent off.
Juve v Fiorentina- mental, no love lost there.
Juve v Parma- won the league, got on pitch at end :D
Inter v Napoli, Ince was still playing , best player on pitch.
