He never got his English CM or a left back......lots of blame must go to the board and recruitment team from SAFC.

Scared for what comes next to be honest.
Resigned more than scared, tbh.[DOUBLEPOST=1379933691][/DOUBLEPOST]
It was o'shea and cattermole that stood up and led the revolt[DOUBLEPOST=1379930532][/DOUBLEPOST]It was on behalf of quite a few players, 5 of the players we have signed over the summer had put in transfer requests.
When are they going then? Let them go.

Excellent post mate.
I didn't want the bloke in the first place, but that post is spot on. It was part of what caused me to feel absolute despair yesterday (mixed with some relief) when I heard about the decision, since it said so much bad about how the club is being run.

The next pointer to the chaos and amateurism within the club will be the DoF position being abolished. You can almost hear the screeching of the brakes from here.

That wont be true.

Yep. Whilst I'm not entirely sure why we have chosen a former agent as DoF I'd like to see us persevere with the model.

Doesn't bode well for the future if true.

All he asked for was a more professional mindset and they couldn't deliver. We are fucked.

There needs to be some middle ground. SAF was a strict disciplinarian, but also adapted to the modern game and the egos of the modern footballer. PDC wanted everything his way - any man manager worth his salt knows that you cannot get the best out of people by being a dictator - you need to be a chameleon as a manager (in any walk of life) you have to get the best out of people - some people need a kick up the arse, some need an arm round the shoulder, all of them need to be respected.[DOUBLEPOST=1379934101][/DOUBLEPOST]

Correct

The modern footballer doesn't put in a transfer request - he gets his agent to squirrel away and start the jungle drums beating. Putting in a request loses them too much money these days.

Possibly, and I realise that maybe I'm trying to attribute common sense here when its anything but, a DOF who isn't a manager by trade is then less of a perceived threat to whoever the coach is, reducing a potential source of friction.

It worried me from the start TBH. A grubby hanger-on whispering in the ear of our chairman, who probably thinks he's getting much-needed wise counsel.

As for the DoF position, I just want them to have the courage of their convictions, whether I agree with those convictions or not.[DOUBLEPOST=1379934358][/DOUBLEPOST]

They are often former scouts, which makes much more sense to me.

Far too open to abuse for me, once an agent always an agent. Regarding your edit, I'd prefer to see our chief scout handed the position.

Someone I know who has friends at the club[DOUBLEPOST=1379935069][/DOUBLEPOST]

I wouldn't like to think it is but I have no reason to doubt the person who told me

It might have been threatened during the problems yesterday, but the loyalty bonus stops the player from actually submitting it.

This person also told me that Di canio had been sacked and that it would be confirmed at 9.30 and he was spot on, he told me this at tea time yesterday

It seems to me that DiCanio wasnt Shorts first choice for the job, whoever was his first choice was not available at that time. Keeping us up gave him the opportunity for another go at it, I belive that Short didnt need much encouragement to get rid and will now move for his first chice.

I am suspecting its Poyet

The floor-shitter is not the answer.
