Exactly. Criticising players then getting himself sent off for the cameras last week.

This is going to turn ugly for us isn't it? This player revolt is gonna see loads of our fans turn on the players in defence of him. The love in for him is astonishing.

Well the last one took us from almost certain relegation to derby glory and premiership survival and on to a players revolt and a sacking and all within 12 games. I'd say he had a short-term impact.
And there lies the problem. We need long term not short.

He has very high standards and wasn't happy with the players performance.

Maybe he was to firm but to call me a tosser is out of f***ing order

You are calling the players that , in returning the favour

He signed the players man, his own fault

Aye of course that was why he got sent off, not because we were robbed of a perfectly good goal and he was venting anger at it like most managers would

In April we needed short-term to be fair. He was the man to keep us up but not not the right man for the long-term. I thought we'd have to pay the price for survival and have PDC here for at least another season. As it's worked out, we've got the best of both worlds IMO. And the club didn't have to do the dirty on him. He did the dirty on the players and/or the players did the dirty on him.

Yes because it essential evolves around "Players were particularly upset to have their effort, professionalism and commitment questioned by their manager.

Think we have all seen them roll over and die in games this season.

They got no f***ing guts like. Yes, PDC has been too outspoken but fuck me they need to grow a set of balls.

Get f***ing MON back and get them all on the piss again eh?

I like him but one thing i will say is that you can't act like he does or do the things he has done in the Premier League. There is too much media spotlight....

Totally agree with PDC comments and philosophy of how the players should conduct themselves but he was unable to manage them. It's one thing for someone like Sir Alex Ferguson to manage the club with such a tight reign but he was doing it with very good players who were winners, PDC tried to do this with mediocre footballers with bad attitudes.

Fair points mate.

I wonder if Ellis had him on a tight lead (contractually) due to his lack of experience and poor pr skills. Knowing Di Canios ego, he'd have took the bait on a prove yourself contract. I still a serious breach by Di Canio has brought this to a head.

Good post. Was it the methods or his means of implementing them? I suspect an element of both.
