Yes. Went on a day trip to Harris & Lewis from Skye years ago. Beautiful, dramatic. Went to the Callanish Stone iirc. Stornoway is a shithole etc
I went on a boat.
I didn't stay.

Haven’t been. Going to Barra and the Uists again on bank holiday weekend.
Drive to Uig on Skye or Ullapool (both 7hr journeys) and catch ferry to Harris.
Two longer alternatives are to drive to Oban get ferry to barra and drive up the island chain or drive to mallaig and get ferry to lochmaddy on North Uist and then drive to Harris.

Went last summer. Ferry from Uig on Skye to Tarbert. Still in this place which is at the southern tip of the island

Yes. Ferry from Ullapool and drove down.
It's f***ing fantastic. Especially the beaches.
Went in August and there was about 3 people there. I want to go back in winter to have the beaches to myself.

Bought some when I was there, very nice.
Their first distillation of their whisky is currently ageing in barrels. All the full private barrels have been sold, but they are still selling single bottles of the first batch for when it's ready for bottling. £600 a bottle if I remember correctly
Looking to go next May/June time for a week, just made enquiries with a place down in the south west, looks mind blowingly beautiful. Cottage is on the beach but within 10 minutes walk of 4 other beaches. Property owned by a Dutch couple looks fantastic.
A visit to the standing stones at Callanish and a look inside the Iron Age house at Bosta Beach makes a great day out from there.
I lived there (Stornoway) for a few months as a kid
My sons Grandmother was born there, English is her second language
