Isa Guha

I watchedon TNT last night for a couple of hours - they are terrible. How the hell does Swann get paid for that rubbish - and he shouts! Although Cook treats him with the respect he deserves - nil. Finn is neither nowt nor summat. There is another English bloke but dont have a clue who he is. Dont mind Isa at all.

Not sure you can do that now with the advent of digital media - I can never get the sound to sync up

The traditional TMS model was always based on pairing a journalist/broadcaster as commentator with an ex-player as summariser. The broadcaster brings the expertise in broadcasting. The summariser brings the expertise in cricket. They still largely follow this model now, and the commentators certainly don’t need to have any top level experience and the likes of Mitchell, Norcross and Mann do not.

Even Agnew and Marks weren’t really a break with this, as they were very much a poacher turned gamekeeper. Agnew served his apprenticeship first through local radio and then through national radio before getting the TMS gig and Marks as a print journalist. Isa Guha was rather fast-tracked across the divide though. Which is perhaps why it didn’t work quite so well. Although I think she’s decent now.

I think it’s a great format, and one of the reasons TMS doesn’t feel quite as good as it used to is that they have blurred the edges a bit in recent years.

I think it's brilliant. They've managed to "modernise" it whilst retain the chaos and style of yesteryear.

Should be on the national curriculum. (If we still have one)
 
Earlier in the series TNT's commentary was slightly out of sync with TNT's pictures.

They seem to have put that right now.
