Isa Guha

I think she’s cringeworthy in general so it’s no surprise she’s said something as brainless as this.

It would be interesting to see the reaction if it had been a male commentator who had said something similar. Very different I expect.
If she hadn’t got 2 Indian parents, then it absolutely would have been.

I think it’s just a brain fart as opposed to malicious.

Cant see that being meant Maliciously, especially considering her own background, hopefully swept under the carpet after an apology and a mistake, Isa is one of the best commentators/presenters

Well it’s not if you think she’s making racial slurs. Unless she’s slurring herself and her entire family too.

It doesn’t make it a good comment, but it does imply it’s not meant with malice
Of course it’s a racial slur. She’s compared him to a monkey, people get banned and arrested at football matches for doing the same. It’s irrelevant who or what her parents are really.

She will have thought she was being funny or a bit zany, which she has a propensity for doing, but it’s actually a bit stupid, unfunny and quite crass.

If it had been a white male who had said it, the reaction would have been totally different.

These are the double standards at play and, for me, that’s the issue.

But I’m not really that arsed and so it’s not a hill I’m willing to die on.
