Well obviously, I don't think it's the manager starting threads every other week asking 'could X do a job here...' though, i.e. Colback at LB/RB, Gooch at RB, PVA/Hume LW, O'Nien CB/striker to name but a few.

He started out as a full back and played lots of his career in that position. If anything he was converted into a midfielder.

We do need a RB, but him getting skinned doesn't mean a great deal all fullbacks get skinned now and then

I thought he did well. However I m f***ing sick of playing players out of position to cover that position. It’s ages since we’ve had 2 good fullbacks. Let’s get it sorted ASAP.

Players aren’t born with their position tattooed on their arses, for me winch has been better at full back than he ever was in center mid, I would still like a recognised right back tho, but suspect the manager feels we have cover there now.

Akins is one of the most difficult wingers to play against. Winch did pretty well against him, and was a real threat going forwards. I reckon he's worth persisting with.

He's needed to shore up the midfield with Evans out.

Let’s put it this way, I feel more confident with him playing at RB than Hume playing at LB.

If Huggins is competition for both fullback positions then Winchester could be the RB. We would then need a CDM though in my view.

How many times are we going to try CMs at RB?
Goes back donkey's years, this. Gary Owers is probably the first one I can think of- er, ok not quite a CM, but you know what I mean. Whitehead then.

There must be a lot of crossover. And its fine to re-train, but you have to start training as part of the defence, and expect it to take about a year to be fully comfortable. Otherwise what you always get is inconsistent performances.

Personally I think he'll be both back up RB and defensive CM. A very reliable player to have as backup.
