Is the first game you attended on YouTube?

And boro away 4-1. 16 gosls in three games, two against.

It was 4:0 at home. I remember the sequence, which came after an awful run. Bristol City 1:0, Boro 4:0, WBA 6:1, West Ham 6:0. Still got relegated, thanks to Jimmy Hill.

If it had been 3 points for a win instead of 2 (ironically introduced by Jimmy Hill), we'd have stayed up and Bristol City and Coventry would both have been relegated.

Marco waved at me after his second goal which I thought was nice.

I think this is the Wigan commentary and I love the understated style. I wish all commentary was like this.

My first was in 1952 ...... it was pretty dark inside me mam though 😱

It might be on Pathe News..... 😂

I think the most memorable thing about your first game, if you're the right age (and it's the right game), it's your first experience of adults absolutely losing their shit with pure unbridled joy 😄

there certainly is on Tyneside!

Its really weird. All my life my Dad has said my first game was vs Port Vale at Roker. I dont remember the game or opponent myself, but I remember two old boys sharing Opal Fruits with us, and one gave me a red and white Rosette. Ive still got it somewhere.

But if we really didnt play them till 90, then theres no way it was my first game, because I have a programme of a game vs Ipswich
We played them in that first ever season in the old third division, winning promotion at Vale
November 28th was the home game.

1990 v spuds ,think it is on YouTube somewhere, sure I was in the clockstand and they were chucking mars bars at gazza in the warm up ..😂😂

Aye that right….if we had got as many points on the first half of the season as we did the second we would have won the league if I remember correctly. Mostly down to the introduction of a certain Gary Rowell due to injuries in the squad

This is mine. I was sitting at the Roker end of the Main Stand, season ticket with my dad. Many of the 73 cup winners were still in the side (though most would get shipped out during the season). Didn't see the Lads actually score until my third home game. The noise popped my ears.

No 😢

Possibly but me da couldn’t remember who it was against. 68/69 season. There were only two live games back when I first went to Roker: FAC Final and Eng v Sco. I’m sure the EC Final was live anarl when a British team were in it.

I was getting chest twinges towards the end of that game. Clock Stand Paddock at the Roker End. A few people were getting worried about me……
