The people of Sunderland should demand to move back into County Durham, who wants to be joined with them Berkeley huntsI have said before this Tyne & Wear shite detracts from traditional Durham borders. Sunderland is the Durham team end of story
When you look at where County Durham actually is on a map. It's a no brainierI have said before this Tyne & Wear shite detracts from traditional Durham borders. Sunderland is the Durham team end of story
I would say spenny was much more Safc before 92, a lot of mags now but I think many moved to the area as well. Of my close mates, 11 Sunderland 1 boro, no mags but I am 42, will be different nowDepends where West Durham starts. Willington is 90-10, Crook 60-40, Dales used to be 70-30 not sure after Keegan. North Durham, Ch.le.st, Pelton, Stanley seems more b and w. Surprising how many people do not know that Sunderland was in County Durham. I try to spread the word, love asking plastic Mags whether they were born on the banks of the Wear. Splutter, splutter, splutter.
Hear, hear they boil my piss.
I think most are giving numbers backed up with local knowledge. Its pretty easy in a small village especially if you grow up in it.
As lovely though Durham is, it isn't a big city. One of the reasons it can't sustain a Football League club.Their local big City is Durham funnily enough... Although most Derwentside Mags like to tell people Consett is in Newcastle or right next to it etc.
f***ing hell you love attention.

I'd agree with that. I've spent time in Darlington over the last few years through work and haven't found the amount of Mags that people talk about on this board. I would say Mags/Boro about the same and SAFC not that far behind. Contrast that with Hartlepool which has easily twice as many more than SAFC and Boro put together.
There is still a gardeners bus goes to the match, always has.Used to travel on a bus to aways from Spenny. Owned by Denny Greenwell I think, only other name I can remember from that era was Spenna and a lad who I played football with from middlestone moor I think big Tony. Willington was 95-5 SAFC pre Keegan and probs 85-15 now. Dont think any of the 15 go and have never attended an away game.
I noticed when I did a bit of work in Hartlepool that the local halfwits who would be wandering round during the day aimlessly were highly likely to be sporting Newcastle attire. Proper scruffy c unts n'all
Born and grew up in Tow Law (1958) also went to school in Wolsingham. Whole school probably 60-40 with quite a few plasticLeeds and Man utdI was born in 1995 and grew up in rural County Durham (Tow Law) and I went to school in Wolsingham and in my class in Primary School I was pretty much the only Sunderland fan in my year, full of mags who when they were winning used to give it the biggun constantly but when roles were reversed and I wound them up about it suddenly they weren't interested in football and I was "sad" for being into football so muchOddly, there was also a fair amount of plastic United/Liverpool fans. When I went to secondary school it got a bit better and it was around 40% SAFC 40% Skunks 20% Glory supporters.
I'd say overall it should be more Sunderland because I know a lot of people who moved to Weardale from Sunderland when they were bairns (myself included).
I'd say Fellgate. Full of Sunderland in Jarra. The Brocka is Shields then East Boldon is atleast 75% sunderland. Even pelaw, heworth and felling has a good amount of sunderland.
Olivier Bernard is owner of durham city fc. Face facts, durham is f***ing mag territory
It might well be worth Sunderland seriously marketing itself as 'the County Durham club'. There must be thousands or even tens of thousands from Gateshead,South Shields, Durham, Stockton and Billingham who regularly go to either Newcastle or Middlesbrough. If the campaign worked, could put a fair few more on the home gate - would need to coincide with at he likes of a cup win/entertaining football in all likelihood though to succeed (73 cup win supposedly broadened our support base at the time). The people of Sunderland should demand to move back into County Durham, who wants to be joined with them Berkeley hunts

Proper Sunderland fans in Ashington. Always had a bus for home and away matches unlike the scum supporters who prefer the clurb to watch their football. Was surprised how many Sunderland fens there are when we went out in Eshington.judging by the music in The Central it's still 1973 there which may explain our popularity

If SAFC were reliant only on spectators living on an SR postcode, the crowds would be half what they are at present. All of them want to be Mackems.....the sandies wish they were Mackems too.
It's a Mackem club ffs![]()
