Ireland v England

I'd argue the other side of the coin.

Keep it 16 games a season, but shorten the length of the one day competition. Make it straight knock out, always on a Sunday, and have it 50 bloody overs.

And throw out Scotland, Unicorns and Netherlands.

:lol:

so a potential England player could have one one day game a year

Canny bowling action this Jones has, bowling off the wrong foot and looks like he's gonna break his shoulder.

You'd still have the likes of The Lions, T20 and whatnot. Another suggestion is 2 x 50 over comps. We must be the only Test playing nation whose domestic game doesn't contain a 50 over tournament. What good is 40 overs?

We'd also find out who the better players are rather than the one-off good games.

Stokes struggling now 2 off 8. 4.29 an over against a nye on club side:oops::oops::oops:

I reckon we should just chuck 50 over cricket in:lol:

15 off 9 for Borthwick about the highlight of the innings, gotta fancy the Irish especially if it gets reduced again for the rain

201-8 off our 42 overs. Got 20 odd off the last 2 overs to pull us up to any sort of decent total.

Finn strikes, 17-1.

Both teams are 10/11 to win on William Hill.

so just to clarify;

18 runs off 19 balls and one over bowled for 13 between all three durham players.

and i dont buy this cop out that durhams batting lost them the game, yes you could say one good knock from someone and we would have won but to say that in a low scoring game dominated by bowlers that one of the best bowlers in the world wouldnt have made a difference is ridicoulous. and had we been set a lower target our batting would have been less of an issue
