Country before club, always has been, always will. Anyway, it was the batting that let us down against Notts, not the bowling.

Why are we so shit at ODIs?

Cos we use it as a reserve Test team. Onions is not an ODI bowler but they take him as they want to keep in in the set up so he's ready for tests. Cook is captain to give him experience for the tests. And so on.

because swathes of good players give domestic one day cricket in this country a swerve to save themselves for 4 day cricket

until 4 day cricket is 8 games a season and not 16 this will continue

in addition the pitches are too bowler friendly

I'd argue the other side of the coin.

Keep it 16 games a season, but shorten the length of the one day competition. Make it straight knock out, always on a Sunday, and have it 50 bloody overs.

And throw out Scotland, Unicorns and Netherlands.
