*~*~* Ipswich v Sunderland match thread *~*~*

Beale advocates not pressing high, which surprised me as I think our fans really respond well to it. It’s a strange appointment
Yet a lot of teams that get results in this league do so by playing with intensity and urgency. Getting at the opposition, pressing them into making mistakes. And we’ve appointed a manager who advocates letting teams come at us. Gonna be a long run in to the season.

You’re clearly not watching the same game. He’s won several headers. He’s also held the ball up and brought others into the game.
He's done that when he's stuck to his position. He'd actually make a good striker in the future if he puts the work in the strength department. Just a shame he wants to play everywhere and do everything.

Stop blaming managers. He played CF most of his yourh football till he was 16. He’s probably played alot more games upfront then he has in CM. Players have to take
Responsibility aswell

While this is true the fact rhat Ipswich are playing a high line, have been all season and wr have a striker who's main skill is running in behind sat on the bench IS the managers fault

He's an ever present and he's been shite for at least 6 weeks. You cannot hide behind the age thing. He doesn't deserve to start. He seems to be one or two yards slower than he was in August. If he's burnt out then get him out the side ffs.
I agree he should either be out the side or playing in midfield

Been interesting that Jobe has been found twice with a long ball after a sharp diagonal run from the young lad.

Clarkes first chance came from it.

Good to see Beale is actually telling players to look for the run.

I do miss our high press though.

Aye but the rest of the time he's the defensive side of pritch ba and Clarke.

There was one ball that Pritchard missed / dummied and it went straight down the middle in nations of space, Bellingham was on the halfway line near Clarke..that's where Rusyn would have been

Well I think we’ve played well enough. It’s clear we are going to play with less energy under MB which I don’t mind. Just got to pass the ball the better always going to be a tight game this
