Ipswich v Scum

I do, he was a decent bet for last goalscorer when he was in the lower leagues.

The difference is, when Le Fondre was in the 2nd tier, his goal tally didn't improve whereas Gayle's hit rate dropped from 1 goal every c200minutes, to 1 goal every 97 minutes. Which is better. Twice as good, in fact.

So;
Didn't get a lot of game time in the top flight, still had a 1-in-3 rate
Dropped to 2nd tier, now has a 1/1 rate
I'm predicting that rate will slide back to original and he'll be good for 10-15 across a season.

What exactly are you arguing about Bear? Are you trying to let me know you don't like Newcastle again? I know you don't.

B:cool:nitez
You're in for a huge shock lad

Really? Anticipating that, if a player with a 1/3 ratio plays about 30 games he'll get 10 goals.

Obviously if Rafa decides he wants a new lad*, or Mitrovic plays more or Murphy is first choice: lol: young Dwight Gayle won't get 10-15 because he won't play the requisite 30 games.

*which I think he will.

It be f***ing hilarious if those were your 3 strikers for next season I think he'll bin off the shit Serb though and buy another striker someone to challenge Dwight Van Basten Gayle

I hope he doesn't get rid of Mitro, but I think he will. I know Mitrovic isn't great and he's mostly just raw potential wrapped up in a furious tattooed mentalist, but it's nice to have a fan of the club playing for it.

We definitely should buy a new striker anyway. Gayle's ok, but we could definitely improve, plus he's suspect on the injury front. We'd need someone clinical, maybe a more experienced player, played abroad maybe, represented his country, but understands the bottom half of the table well, would help if he lived locally already... anyone spring to mind?

Borini

The criticism of Gayle is harsh given he's not really had a lot of game time in the top flight. I've watched him plenty this season and can say that he's got that knack of finding the right space in the box. He's no Harry Kane, but then, who is? He's good for 10-15 goals in the top flight.

Shelvey hasn't been guilty of watching games go by him this year, a year when his ability means he'd be able to stroll thruogh most games should he choose.

I think you're being overly-harsh, you probably think I'm overly positive about them. But at least you've actually thought about your position and backed it up with a decent argument.

Hourihane has been fantastic this year (until he moved to Villa to be honest).
10-15 goals

Thought you'd popped me on ignore Bear, me old mucker?

Dunno if Gayle could score 10-15 now, he's not playing.
Nar you’re one of a handful who’ve escaped it

Back to Gayle he might hit my prediction of 5 if he’s lucky

I'm honoured.

Gayle might get 5, if he keeps to 33 minutes a game ;)

Honestly, I'd sell him to a Championship side after a goal scorer in January. He doesn't fit the system we play, and up front is one of the key positions we need to strengthen, so he'd be further down the pecking order.
