On the pitch has to be the first priority for me. Get that right then look at the facilities.

It would look even worse on tv when you are 3-0 down at half time
I don’t disagree with you. If anyone likes plenty of space in life, it’s this fella. Shame we didn’t up the ante from the outset. Crazy how in the space of a few years we went from state of the art to just, adequate. In 1997 anything was an improvement on outdoor bogs and ice-laiden mince pies of Roker Park. The SoL was the height of luxury back then. Now we know what good looks like with more recent stadiums being built, we should rightly raise our expectations. The concourses should be deeper with easier access to concessions and thus creating more matchday revenue for the club.
One thing I don’t get is why we need to extend the concourses…I know they’re cramped, but they always have been. What’s the difference between now and 1997. Seems to me they were always too small but I’m sure no one really complained at the time…?
Is this a societal change?
There are simply not enough toilets at the SOL. The cubicles are then taken over by those sad fucks who can’t resist the need to top up their cancer habitAye unfortunately some men don't care about hygiene and the drink makes it even worse, the toilets in the BCB are always bogging (sorry) paper towels all over piss on the floor and toilet seats(it's too hard to lift the seat) paper stuffed down the sink plug hole and dirty water left in the sink and the occasional floater left in the pan, it makes you wonder what their homes are like.
Suspect a long list will be compiled for SD to look into!According to the last meeting minutes there is a walk round on the 31st March with reps from the attendees and the Maintenance Team. Be interesting to see what comes out of it.
I have been told the roof is under going maintenance, although im yet to see any internal maintenance
Surely we all know now that all infrastucture remedial work will only be getting done (properly) when we get to the Prem with Premier league money. Its plain to see with all areas now dont fit in with the sustainable model.
Infrastuctre - No
Supporter safety - No
Aesthetics - No
Ticket office - No
Club shop - No
Playing squad - cant complain
It would be similar to a Boro game at kick offIt would look even worse on tv when you are 3-0 down at half time
Thing is though getting facilities for supporters right can generate much needed revenue for the first team building. The current neglect of the stadium is only going to increase costs later on. If you have an asset you keep the asset in as good condition as possible to keep value high if nothing else. Its not like the ownership is skint. There has to be a spend money to make money attitude in some area's rather than cutting everything back.On the pitch has to be the first priority for me. Get that right then look at the facilities.
Not really. It’s a lot of stuff people won’t see or even hear about potentially. Future proofing, repairs, investment into the stadium, becoming greener and more sustainable.
You just need to look at the core values of LDC to see what it’ll be about.
Stuff people would fume at but is absolutely necessary, which costs a lot of money and is long term not short term fixes.
The stadium hasn’t been looked after since it was built. It’s up to the new board to bring it up to standard. From what I’ve seen and heard it’s what they are committed to.
Generally needs some TLC but for actual repair, the parts of the roof up in the PC need fixing, few games this season I've sat up there in pools of water from where the roof has been leaking.Which places is it falling apart?
And the club have said they want to encourage people to get to the ground earlier and spend money there and not elsewhere. You would think it would be up on the list of prioritiesFor me I just want to see some effort put into the concourses and a decent fanzone.
I just tend to be turn up a few minutes before the match. Quick trip to the toilet and straight to my seat. The concourses feel so soulless and half arsed. They just need updating to give them more character.
I'd love to see us have a more interesting food and drink offering. By all means have the generic big brand stuff everyone knows but we could easily negotiate a deal with Coors to be able to have some local beers on from somewhere like Vaux.
Maybe have some guest food stands that change game to game for local businesses to come in
For me a proper attempt at a Fanzone would be great too. The club tried it in the early days of Donald and Methven but it always felt a bit half arsed. I think done well it could really help build atmosphere.
Bob Murray laid the groundwork for an amazing stadium but the reason it was so cheap was because it was never properly fleshed out and needed continual investment that it never had.
I also want to see a new PA but I think some don't realise how much that would cost. I work within live music and even for a cheaper system you'll be looking at around 400-500k for something that covers a ground the size of the SOL.
Big sustainability infrastructure will be the focusI know the roof is having money spent on it as it hasn't been touched since day 1, but not heard anything about the internals.
Maybe the walk round and next supporters meeting will shed light on it
Big accessible safe concourses should be the focusBig sustainability infrastructure will be the focus
I don’t disagree, I would imagine that is a focus as well.Big accessible safe concourses should be the focus
There is naff all to encourage supporters to get to the ground earlier. The New Footbridge and Sheepfolds developments will provide better access to far superior alternatives for supporters. And the club have said they want to encourage people to get to the ground earlier and spend money there and not elsewhere. Preaching to the convereted there and when i suggested on here extended concourses or outside areas i was told it would cost to much for not enough return. So its catch 22There is naff all to encourage supporters to get to the ground earlier. May not even need that. Theres plenty of unused land around the ground, some could be used for an indoor fanzone. It'd cost but could be used for functions or meetings during the week.Preaching to the convereted there and when i suggested on here extended concourses or outside areas i was told it would cost to much for not enough return. Again mate, all dismissed on here as to expensive for the returnMay not even need that. Theres plenty of unused land around the ground, some could be used for an indoor fanzone. It'd cost but could be used for functions or meetings during the week.
Some of it could be cost but you'd think about the club being part of the community. We could link with the foundation and other charities and use it as a hub when not used for drinking pre/post match. or even the uni and house part of the glass centre. Yes it costs money but theres more to a football club than the finances. Look at what Wrexham are doing to be part of the community. Football club owners ate custodians, the club will hopefully be here long after theyve gone and they need to leave a legacy. That usually motivates the rich into action.Again mate, all dismissed on here as to expensive for the return
