Because he’s a 6th bowler who blows hot and cold and isn’t expected to always bowl a full 10. The Curran’s are selected explicitly to be bowlers and bowl well. Totally different circumstances

Sam rarely bowls 10 because he’s invariably too expensive to. Sams in the team as a bowler, not as an all rounder to bowl 3-4. In an ideal game, the 5 bowlers are economical and effective and stokes bowls nothing. Stokes only comes into it when the bowlers are failing, ultimately.

They are detestable at best. We have the batting to chase it, and the run rate won’t be a problem on this pitch for us. It’s the wickets that are the issue

We do mate, especially with Stokes and Malan to come as you say losing wickets is the concern, completely fell apart on Tuesday after Roy went.
