It’s a rarity that he’s talking sense but he is this time. Enough of the ball is hitting there for the element of doubt to be taken out of it. It’s hitting flush, not a clip the bails type ball

When Stokes got Rohit out, that was DEFINITELY umpires call (and I actually think we were lucky to get the raised finger)...BUT that one with Pant should never have been umpires call. I am not blaming the umpire (although I do think that the umpire would have given an English batsman out) but that ball was surely ‘hitting’.
 

It’s amazing how the narrative has changed over the years. In the past we would be furious about being given out lbw to balls that would be missing another set or bowlers didn’t get decisions that were hitting halfway up middle. These days people feel aggrieved at times when an umpire from 22 yards away is making a correct decision or one that is a fraction out.
