He mentions the Ireland game a couple of years ago, I’m pretty sure loads said it was a rubbish pitch including Root.
He's just wrong like, sucking up to the Indians as usual.
England dont product pitches like that, and when they rarely do, they get widely criticised for it. However, he seems to think that India are beyong criticism here. He keeps referencing the Lords test match against India, which was nothing to do with the pitch, which was flat. It was completed covered over in cloud and Jimmy and Woakes swung it round corners. We literally cant do anything about that! Cant get God to remove the clouds can we. When the sun game out, the pitch was fine, the flattest of the summer, and Chris Woakes made a 100 from it.
There is no aversion to spinning pitches, I like them, the cricket on the last 2 tours of Sri Lanka has been great.
This is a sub standard pitch, not up to international standards, and it has been an absolutely awful spectacle. The only argument he has seems to be that Rohit made runs on it, so what if he did? good for him, class innings. But its been an absolute lottery.
I honestly think if a county side rocket up and won that toss they'd be well ahead of the game. Its just not what I want to see in international sport.
As Mark Waugh pointed out on twitter, on the very first morning, regulation spin balls were taking huge chunks out of the good part of the pitch, not even where the footholes were. Thats not normal like, I've literally never seen that happen in 30 years.
Sub of the usual idiot journos trying to twist the argument as they daren't criticse India, usual stuff.
Bit of a meaningless test this for me, I'll watch the highlights but wont be tuning in, pointless cricket.
Everyone loves George Dobell on here - I'm expecting full agreement.
Not here, the blokes a complete tosser.
I've met him numerous times through work, you'll struggle to find a bloke more up his own arse.
....and before you say me...I am actually very placid and quiet in real life, which is why I like to vent on here. I am not like Larry David, and have a filter.
