India v England 3rd ODI

English football has always had a huge Nationalist problem. There is a deep, long standing racist undercurrent within the support of the England football team, that simply isn't there with the cricket side.

I know, for example, if I was sitting next to someone being racist or xenophobic at cricket, there would be people falling over themselves to shut the twat up - whereas, having been to a few England football internationals, I feel that people would be more inclined to join in than to put a stop to it.

With that in mind, I can't possibly feel comfortable following the England football team.
It really is a tiny majority these days surely?
Been a couple of years but the last England match I was at I didn't hear a single thing.
But trust me there are people who go to all events with that attitude.

This and I don’t feel any affinity with the England footballers at all. Sure they’re mostly decent lads but I’ve played and spent far more time around the game of cricket than I have organised football. Cricket feels like more of a brotherhood, a sense of belonging
Think the whole Terry, Cole, Gerrard, etc., collection when it was all Man Utd, liverpool, Chelsea closed shop really put a lot of people off the team too. The bent/Phillips BS doesn’t help too

Yup, definitely.
I spend most weeks of the year (in normal times anyway) screaming abuse at the likes of Grealish, Maguire and Kane. Why am I gunna suddenly like them just for putting on a white top for a tournament?

Also, I've never been part of a cricket crowd that has booed an opposing national anthem/sung the German Bombers song/generally disgraced the country on a global scale.

For me, I've always said if I were an international cricketer, I'd feel pride playing for England.
But if I were a footballer, you couldn't pay me to stand arm in arm singing GSTQ, but I could happily belt out Amhrán na bhFiann and take a lot of pride in doing so

"Screaming abuse". You are sounding like a bit of a 'right-on' hypocrite here. I'm personally not going to let a tiny percentile of imbeciles stop me being an England fan, in any fashion. Liverpool-type attitude.

Even In recent times - euro 2016, Ingerland fans belting out "fuck off Europe, we all voted out"
The day of the London Bridge terror attack, when England played Germany in Dortmund. Germany offered their public sympathy and offered out to Britain. How did the English respond? Booing the German anthem and the ten German Bombers song.

It makes me ridiculously ashamed to be from this poisonous little island. And if some people think that's weird, then, so be it

"The English"? Lovely bit of generalisation. As stated above, ridiculous attitude as Palace will undoubtably have their share of idiots.

Iv been to five England games heard nothing, iv been to sunderland games and have heard racist remarks people making a sweeping generalisation are ridiculous

Martin McGuiness supported England at cricket.
I've always been a huge England cricket fan but I am up and down with the football team.
Don't think I've ever seen a chair thrown by the Barmy Army

No just burst in to random restaurants, and hilariously, drunkenly, and loudly, tell bemused people they live in a convict colony.
