Aye, I was thinking that myself
Could murder a curry as well but I doubt Mrs.Breen Machine fancies investing in a new bathroom just yet.

this sums up my feelings
Also, I am pleased others can watch it, but actually disappointed its not on Sky, I have Sky, the coverage is brilliant
Also Cook doing Tests 1 and 3
Strauss doing 3 and 4
So not sure who is doing test 2 yet
No star name presenter, I recognise his face, think he has done all sorts of sports for BBC, and C4, I think he works for C4 though now so they obviously just trying to keep costs low, they are just usuing world feed for comms
fair enough IMO when they've paid the cash
I think people inside the cricket bubble don’t appreciate how low key cricket has become in the public eye mind.
But yeah, I’ll miss Sky. They make the BBC and BT teams look crap when in reality they’re fine, just up against something superb.

My old man always talks about Test crowds in the 70s and 80s and apart from The Ashes, crowds were pretty sparse at Test matches even over here (according to him anyway, although he's pointed it out before when we've watched old series or things like Ashes in the 80s etc).I get that but we get more people watching cricket live now in England than at any point in history, at grounds I mean
people seem to determined to say what bad health it’s in, maybe on participation but not crowd Wise, it’s the healthiest it’s ever been
Anyway can only be a good thing aye

To me it feels like international cricket in this country is a day out on the drink or a corporate day off work. I would love to see how many people would go if it was alcohol and corporate free.My old man always talks about Test crowds in the 70s and 80s and apart from The Ashes, crowds were pretty sparse at Test matches even over here (according to him anyway, although he's pointed it out before when we've watched old series or things like Ashes in the 80s etc).
Meanwhile, in the middle of a pandemic and with it highly doubtful crowds will be allowed, the Oval has totally sold out for the Test (except day 5 I believe) v India and the ODI v Sri Lanka (I have tickets for both).
Test cricket is incredibly healthy in England and Aus.
I do worry about it in the Caribbean, subcontinent etc, where crowds are paltry

I don't agree - I agree that that's what T20 is, but I think the ticket cost for a Test match means that those who go tend to be proper cricket lovers. To me it feels like international cricket in this country is a day out on the drink or a corporate day off work. 4-0 is hardly a scrape mindKind of the same for football like
I go for a day out, not to see us scrape a win over Lincoln

That's my fear as a regular at Durham for championship cricket the people attending has dwindled and the people that still go have been attending for years. God knows what this damned disease will have done to cull a few more county cricket followers.Viewing figures on TV (in particular amongst young people) are really bad though. It’s a ticking time bomb for cricket. So in terms of participation and overall eyeballs on the game the trends are worrying - and they’re trying to arrest them TBF.
Atherton is a superb analyst and Hussein is good but Lloyd is long past his sell by date and the remainder mediocre imo. I think both Cook and Strauss are intelligent and perceptive and shouldI think people inside the cricket bubble don’t appreciate how low key cricket has become in the public eye mind.

Hopefully they’ll forget it exists so I still have a good chance of going even if it’s heavily restrictedThat's my fear as a regular at Durham for championship cricket the people attending has dwindled and the people that still go have been attending for years. Funny Iam completely different I go to watch the cricket. I can't remember the last time I had an alcoholic drink at a days play. Probably why I don't attend England matches anymore just full of drunks.Kind of the same for football like

make excellent analysts. Much will depend on who chairs the discussion, the name in the frame appears to be the Channel 4 F1 correspondent which is a bit of a concern. I'd like to see also an expert from the subcontinent, not necessarily Indian. Sangakarra, for example,is excellent.
rishi has experience on horse racing, snooker, the bowls last week. He’s a steady hand who will let the ex pros talkNot sure who he is but I’ll try to ignore the fact his name is Rishi and give him an open mind![]()
