India Series on FTA?

I think when football is on a channel that has a +1 channel they aren't allowed to show it on the +1 channel as it's effectively a re-run but they've only paid for the live broadcast rather than re-runs/highlights. So be careful if you set a recording on a +1 channel.
Cheers, didn't know that.
No idea. But it’s definitely 4am, according to the ecb app anyway
Aye, India 5 and a half hours ahead, even more bizarrely, Nepal used to be 10 minutes ahead of India!
Edit: Just googled it and Nepal is now 15 minutes ahead of India.
Regarding cricket, it could be Ahmedabad is further North and West, days shorter, sun sets later. Also there was often fog until 11am in Chandigarh in winter.

Not saying that will happen but I've definitely waited to watch a European match from the start and found I ended up missing the entire first half 😃

Chennai... the memories of three of us in the scruffiest bar of all time! After being locked out of a 40% full ground on day 2. And England losing gutlessly. Wouldn’t swap them though.

Ahmedabad doesn’t look great. Hopefully we get a Dharmasela test in the future...

Dharamsala would (I think) be too cold from mid Dec, to mid February. But, I suppose with the BCCI involved in the planning, owt is possible.
Wouldn't have minded Ahmedabad, dry state though.

Don't forget the fragrant aromas in Chennai wafting from the canal outside the ground....

Be interesting to see if Disney have had their fingers burned and made a loss (or not as much profit as they expected) from buying up the broadcasting rights.

I asked an Indian

They said
Winter sunsets happen pretty quickly over here so we usually play 9:30 to 4:30 IST in Sep-Mar period which is when our home tests happen mostly. If we play any time between April and June, we can do 10-5 for tests

Sounds like it, if you believe The Sun.

Confirmed by the BBC.

We'll that's going to screw up the amount of work I get done over the next few weeks but at least it will encourage me to get up early in the morning
fantastic news

this sums up my feelings

Also, I am pleased others can watch it, but actually disappointed its not on Sky, I have Sky, the coverage is brilliant
Also Cook doing Tests 1 and 3

Strauss doing 3 and 4

So not sure who is doing test 2 yet

No star name presenter, I recognise his face, think he has done all sorts of sports for BBC, and C4, I think he works for C4 though now so they obviously just trying to keep costs low, they are just usuing world feed for comms

fair enough IMO when they've paid the cash
