If we'd bought Pitman in January

He likes it on the deck played in behind the defence. We pump it up to him against lads that are near 7 foot and weight 18 stone. Ross hasn’t a clue

this is an absolute myth. McGeady wouldn't be player of the season if we just lumped it to Grigg. We play enough football in and around the box for a good striker to score a boat load. Maja had 15 before January ffs. He'd be on 30 by now.

So you think we are playing the same type of football that we were playing before December? Maja would’ve scored about 5 since the end of January, which is I think what Grigg has.
McGeady has been scoring through pieces of magic at times and coming in from deep. Can’t expect Grigg to be coming in from deep as the only striker and/or scoring wordlies all the time.

how can McGeady be coming from deep with the ball if our centre halves are lumping it up the park?

Grigg has been so disappointing. I hadn't seen much of him before he signed but most seemed to believe he was good in this league and would be a canny signing. I just don't get what he brings to the side.

You'd think we could have done so much better with the money we spent on him. Sterling was a waste of a loan signing as well mind.
He has been a flop

We shouldn't have turned down ched Evans. I think the club were worried about the baggage with Ched, but for me, he would have been a better signing than grigg

Not sure Grigg is a bad player, but what is criminal is to sign a player that is injured, and 3 months on he continues to struggle due to the same injury he had since signing. The injury is obviously holding him back, as he was fantastic last year for Wigan. Whoever is responsible should be shot - Ross, Donald or the medical department have dropped a right bollock here

As I said numerous times, we'd be up now. Couldn't get a game for them before Christmas. Would have weakened them tremendously too.

He wouldn't have improved us much and he would have had no effect at all on Barnsley.

People seem to have forgotten we lost an in form Chris Maguire, not that dissimilar player for 7 or 8 weeks. To lose a match winner for 2 months, including a cup final was a hammer blow in hindsight.

He's rejuvenated your team. I dunno why you're mentioning Vaughan in the same sentence tbh.
To be fair to Vaughan, he was out of our match-day squad and trained with Wigan last week, because it looked like he wouldn't get in our team for the rest of the season. One injury and bad 1st half later, he's playing for us on Sky, and works his ass off, taking a beating from their centre halfs. That's great work ethic from a 4th choice striker who was frustrated with the club, and had no need to put a shift in.

He also gave his Checkatrade trophy to a youth player who played earlier in the competition, which is a lovely touch. If the fans hadn't turned on him, he'd have been an asset to you in League 1.

I said at the time, Wigan played you like a fiddle. You put all your eggs in one basket, Wigan knew this, and left it til the very last second so you had no choice but to sign Grigg without a medical. I'm guessing that's a failing at board level.

An obvious and cheaper option would’ve been the big lad from Blackpool, he would’ve given us more upfront.

Just like he's proved to be an asset for yous? He's f***ing shite man.

I would have let pitman leave on a free in January , when he was playing it was as a lone striker and he looked out of sorts . But fair play to him and Kenny Jacket , he has kept his head down and now playing as a 10 and is thriving again . Looks a different player

We’ve always lacked pace.

Who was the last genuinely quick player we had? Obviously Watmore's still here and been unlucky with injuries... but before him?

Richardson?

He wouldn't fit into to your team. His days as a league 1 lone striker are done, and playing in the number 10 role requires the rest of the midfield to do a lot of running for him, which I don't think would have worked with Cattermole, Leadbitter and McGeady.

Of our strikers, Hawkins and Bogle would both have been better choices than Pitman, as they have more physicality and pace. As much as this forum wouldn't agree, you'd also have benefited from Vaughan as a back up striker, I think he'd have got a lot more game time than Sterling...

Wouldn't care if we were in League 2 or the conference. That lad was f***ing toilet and his attitude stunk.

Don't think we turned on him until he started cupping his ears to us after a goal against Burton answered his critics.

Except he did have a medical. What a pile of shite you talk. Can’t wait to draw 1-1 with you and take you down with us, gifting Barnsley promotion

You're talking shite mate. He was f***ing awful for you lot against Coventry. Yes, he does try hard but for an ex Premier League player he has no quality at all. A forward who can't score or even assist is a total waste of space.

No he wouldn't

The amount of excuses made for Grigg is laughable

he is playnig poorly, thats on him

He's right about Grigg though
