If we win Tuesday

This, as long as the game is played, both teams agree and umpires can get there, why not move it. Its better than teams conceding etc
Why would a team concede so individuals can watch the footy? I’d like to watch it as much as anyone, but if you’re committed to a team you should stand by that.

Some people miss games to pack their suit case to go on holiday ;) so there's going to be plenty of people pulling out for a winnable world cup quarter final that many may never see again

Now now Edward! As previously mentioned, more and more people work Saturday mornings and childcare will be a big issue. I take it you’re going to pledge a change of date/time?

The league will make their decision so I won't be pledging anything and tbh I don't expect any changes anyway. The likelihood is though a few 2nd team games will get conceeded particularly from teams who aren't playing for anything which is never a good thing but understandable in the circumstances.

You have a England quarter final in the World Cup with a very real chance of progressing to the final probably the best chance in nearly 30 years!!!

And one game of cricket can’t be moved to let lads watch it?

By not moving ,it wil, clearly put lads in a difficult position, stay loyal to your mates and your cricket club or miss once a generation football game!!

Who in their right mind wants to bat at 9 in the f***ing morning?

Why not I play golf at 7 30 in the morning so I am finished early enough to still have time to do other things in that day.

As a one off if I still played cricket which much rather start at 9 if it meant finishing in time for a England World Cup quarter final.

In fact playing cricket from 9 till 2.30 on a Saturday then quick shower watch the match in the pub with my mates straight after seems the best of both worlds to me.

Honestly.......utter f***ing cack babble. Play cricket man
Listened to eng v spain in 96 whilst scoring Whitburn v Wearmouth. No discussion then whether to play
Played a 15s cup tie week before and missed first 60 of Eng v Holland. Again no issues

Remember that in 96 played Gateshead fell away we were all out for 22!!

Back well in time for that match :D:D

Which umpires are going to arrive at a ground at 08:00am?

Ones who would like to watch the England match at 3.

Do umpires have to be at a club match a full hour before a game nowadays?

I was scorer in that match. My £6 must have almost had me on minimum wage rates by the time the game finished ;)

Yes, umpires are instructed to be at the ground AT LEAST 60 minutes before the scheduled start, to conduct the toss 30 minutes before play is due to start and conduct their pre match duties. It won't affect me this weekend though as I'm having a weekend off umpiring.

Looking at the forecast, starting at 9.00 a.m. might not be a bad idea!

I am sure if umpires arrived 30 mins before a club cricket match and am sure that would be more than fine, just another example of over the top antics by amateur cricket league.

Tbf to lads who want to play cricket and watch the football (which I am sure they will be many) I see nothing wrong with a early start.

Small world mate!

I missed the england v holland game in 96. I was opening tbe batting in a game with me da. Think it was the one and only time anarl.

Certainly wouldnt be averse to playing at 9 am. Decent compromise if it means games get played. Can certaiy ser some 2s games being conceeded this weekend.

9am start are you lot daft?

Most prem clubs are at the ground 1 hour 15/1 hour 30 before the start. There’s a lot of travel in the leagues nowadays that can take 45mins to an hour so that would mean leaving the house around or before 7am? On a Saturday?

For more reasonable scenarios people can agree on to watch the game if desperate to before that.

People were complaining about their wives telling them off for playing bank holidays a couple of threads ago and now people are saying leave the house before 7am?!

Firstly there is absolutely no reason at all for teams to arrive at the ground over a hour before the game just pointless, I suppose it’s so they can pretend their professional run round the field doing fitness tests while their director of coaching takes them through their paces!

There is no reason why teams can’t arrive half hour before the game no reason at all it’s vlub cricket FFS.

You make it sound ridiculous to get up early morning and make your way to a ground when it’s not at all.

More importantly it’s a one off!!

What daft to me is teams turning up for a game 90 mins before the start utterly pointless

Us umpires get into trouble from league administrators when we're not at the ground an hour before play.

There it is jumped up in their own self importance administrators do me a favour!

They are involved in a local cricket league in trouble, fuck me!

Don’t want to sound like @wicketkeeper but cricket survived for years and years with umpires and players turning up for games 30 mins before a game.

Would really love to know what players do turning up a full 90 mins!

Before the start of the game I would be bored silly!

I wonder how we managed to win 3 Senior League titles turning up to the game 20 minutes before the off. Oooh the unprofessionalism of it!!!

The pretentiousness of the Premier League is beyond f***ing belief.

Proper league.

A prententious organisation
