If the Mags win tonight, is it all over?

A lot of people on here tend to think they'll start to move up the league after their transfer activity. If they win tonight they'll be 5 points clear with a better GD too, an easier run in, and the momentum in their favour.

With Norwich dropping into trouble it's looking like there might be a big gap between the bottom 4 and everyone else.

So would a Newcastle win at Everton signal that they'll move up the league as so many on here are predicting? And would it be the final nail in the SAFC coffin?
We're down anyway

Ok then, how we going to get 36 points. Seems a long way off.
I have no answer for that mate. It's looking bleak, isn't it? We keep playing reasonably well but not getting the points we should from it. The only good sign is that the mags are the same, and that Norwich appear to be in freefall.

No mate thats decided at the end of the season.

It's not all over, but personally I don't see Bournemouth being anywhere near the bottom 3 and I've been saying that for weeks. They will comfortably clear 40 points. Therefore, with Villa being as good as down, it's us, the mags and Norwich fighting for that one survival spot. Swansea could still join the party but their recent 7 points and (I believe) a home game v Palace next could see them put enough daylight between them and us. After that you're hoping Pardew can keep this Palace run going or WBA get dragged in, although I can't see that with Pulis in charge.

Saying all that, then what the mags do is very important. A win or even a point tonight will give them heart ahead of a home game against West Brom and they may start making it difficult for us. With Tufty there though I believe they will still be there or thereabouts come the end of the season as he's dreadful. A decent manager would have that squad around the 30 point mark already. The target for me is 38+. Ideally 40+ but anything north of 38 will give us a decent chance.

We need to ignore the gap at the moment and focus on getting 40 points. The league will take care of itself
We're not getting 40 points this year. We definitely have to keep an eye on other results and hope they go in our favour

Are people writing off Aston Villa too soon then?!

I think if the Mags win then it's looking like mission impossible. It is likely to look even worse in a fortnight.

No. Plus, after last night I think our starting 11 is better than theirs.

Not sure about this like. One good game is too early to judge them IMO

Just can't see it this time. We need to start winning games and quickly. Think we can stay within 5 points with at least five games left we have a chance. Problem is I can't see it.

they have bought there way out of this they will not go down, our best bets are villa norwich swansea or bournmouth, difficult to over come them all but we can do it. We have a good looking team now which will get better, our achilles heel is the ferking defence and right and left backs in particular, we must stop stupid mistakes and last night Jones was not close enough to Aguero simple as
Are you suggesting that the amount of money they've spent guarantees their survival?

I prefer to think that after spunking their dough if they don't get instant gratification they will implode.....or explode....so long as they plode I don't care

I'm torn between looking at the league table and thinking we're knacked and what I saw last night which tells me we'll be fine. We need a shock win in the next two to stand a chance I think. Also Newcastle and Norwich are the must winnyest of must wins.

What a tosser. Too many knackers on here that you wouldn't want in the trenches with you, soft as shite bottle jobs prepared to give up half way through a task.
