ID checks for away tickets

Quite a few Newcastle supporters were stopped at Bournemouth at the beginning of the season for identify checks. And it did not create good publicity as they were being refused entry after travelling 350 miles. Whilst I understand the concept in principle, it should be standardised across all clubs, as it looks as if only a handful of clubs have implemented away ticket checks. Based on the number of returns at SOL for clubs like Brighton, Fulham, Bournemouth, etc. I suppose some clubs are thankful of any supporter wanting to travel.

People went cos they enjoyed it.....

I totally disagree with that point. A lot of it was anything but enjoyable. The 23-24 season under Beale is the perfect example

3 away games in a row, Huddersfield, Birmingham, Norwich. Didn't want to go to any of them and it felt like a massive chore to do. It's not always enjoyment and at times it can be quite shit

Anyone else getting the 'Pass Download Limit Reached' when downloading Bournemouth tickets? Haven't downloaded them but it's giving me an error. Will have to ring ticket office and get a duplicate.

Mine has worked ok.

Is it possible to ring the ticket office these days. Couldn't get any answer last time I tried (repeatedly...). Isn't everything through AskSAFC?

Yes, I’m having the same issue and have logged this with SAFC!

Did they say what the issue was? Have I just got to show ID and the digital ticket link as I can’t actually download the ticket?

Yeah, they said it was a Bournemouth think. I think I've probably been 'targeted' or whatever it was for the game with these ID checks. Said I've just got to show my ID at the ticket office.

Just cos you didnt enjoy it doesnt mean others didnt.

the mrs emailed the club to give a bit praise where it's due for the emails she sends out.
don't know why she wants us to use the m6 and m42 to get to bournmouth on saturday mind :)
I think thats a generic route taken from the Bournemouth site that sort of assumes if you are coming 'from the North' you must be coming from The midlands or the North West. There is no way you would want to be on the M6 coming from the North East.

The points are on my account and my dad’s. I often go to away games with my brother because of my dad’s work.

If we were flagged for an ID check and I have the correct ID, but the second ticket is in my brother’s name (same surname, clearly the son of the account holder), what normally happens? Has anyone experienced how strict the club are in this situation?

I can't answer your question, but another example where it would make sense to have two names on one card.

Card 1:
Son 1 Homerton

Card 2:
Father Homerton
Son 2 Homerton

Be easy then that either your dad OR brother could attend without worrying .
