ID checks for away tickets


Slowly coming to the realisation that as an exile, I am unlikely to be able to get tickets to away games again. Not going to risk being randomly checked and turned away. Absolutely gutted.

Aye, but we’re not talking about legal requirements for things like Grant of Probate or making a will. A photo of a passport should be fine to get into a football match 🤷‍♂️

Tbf, it's not you who'd take the punishment. You'd be turned away.

The person with all the points who bought the ticket and transferred to you, sounds like they'd be the one who'd get sanctioned

Only sanction they’d do is take the point off them, nothing official as of yet saying if you do x y z youl be banned etc

it happens all the time, much more regularly that people expect. one of our group didn't come to spurs, as he took ill the day before.

But that defeats the purpose. A friend of mine buys tickets to every single away day, one's he has no intention of going to, safe in the knowledge he can almost always pass his ticket on. He probably goes to abut 4 or 5 aways a season yet has huge point totals, that cannot be right.

I have no skin in the game, I struggle getting to aways due to work and other commitments, so dont have an axe to grind, but fans more deserving than me who cant get tickets should have be able to rely on a system that cant be so easily manipulated.
 
A mag at the gym told me a mate lost years of away points for handing on one ticket.

Sure someone said its happeded to an safc fan too?

If so I reckon my only way of getting hands on any is soon over.

personally i think the whole debate around this particular issue is much ado about nothing and very much a whataboutery argument. do you honestly think a steward or official is going to allow a child to be separated and alone from their parents?

imo, the main problems regarding ticketing for away games and all this id check carry on we're having at the minute has it's roots with that facebook site and more so the branches for not being whiter than white.

Can If you actually use the turnstiles?
Because if you did you would know there is nothing on the other side other than a bank of football supporters, and if you are a child they are twice your height with no reference point whatsoever or understanding of what to do next.
The club does have a responsibility to ensure children are safe when they come through that turnstile if their guardian does not follow.
