ID checks for away tickets

From a safeguarding point of view they have left themselves open to a whole world of shit if a child ends up getting separated from the adult and god forbid something went wrong.
Not against id checks but very surprised it's not been better though out with regards to this matter.
It has been taken into consideration like. I’m not sure what happens but it will have 100% been considered.

It may be that both tickets are selected for an ID Check or something of that ilk but knowing the people in the safety department I can guarantee it’s been considered.

So why don't they just communicate that?

They can’t just do at turnstile.

They send an email!

It’s not a legal requirement to carry ID in any walk of life nevermind watching Sunderland.

People are just making shit up now

Why should he have to pay for that. Unless it free
It’s changed since Brighton mate

Definitely agree on the comms side of things!

I’ll repeat myself for the final time on this. Our branch has used this when people have fell ill. The ticket comes with bus travel, when someone pulls out last minute it means someone else can go. I can’t speak for every branch but the one I’m in are loyal supporters who went during the league one years. Nobody is buying and selling tickets for profit. Nobody is getting tickets for people that have zero points.

Being in a branch is looking after your fellow supporters, not shafting them. You seem to have an issue with this.

Again, I can’t speak for every branch but don’t tar them all.
there seems to be a suspicious amount of people fall ill and pull out at the last minute meaning tickets get handed out to others without the required amount of points. i've no doubt it does actually happen but it seems to be a bit of a get out clause.
it's not about selling for profit either, i would like to think common decency would prevail, it's about doing things the right way. what you describe is looking after fellow sunderland fans but only if you happen to be a member of said branch.
Nor. I never said that. I was at that game and I drove my own car. But when I got there, here was a big line of busses belonging to all the branches, filled with fans who wouldn't have been able to get their otherwise

how do you know they wouldn't have got there otherwise. when i was in a branch, if there was less than 8 people we would sack the bus off and take 2 cars.

A lad i know travels away with England regular, he reckons that they do a similar thing apart from if you don't go to confirm your identity your ticket is not cancelled just the person who's account the ticket was bought under does not receive a cap (point) for that game. If true that seems a fairer system.

Theres a lot of elderly members in our branch, it happens quite often. Without the branches, they’ll be knackered. There’s nowt suspicious about it.

I’ll agree to disagree with you over this, I’d rather help a fellow fan out rather than be miserable and dour and want fellow fans to suffer.

Yeah that’s right , they basically have said in the past off the record the “random” checks are the people they can track selling/giving them away on the travel club facebook page . You get a fair bit of notice too and it was queried about kids tickets if adult selected and again they said if a kids ticket was part of order highly unlikely to be selected unless there has been anything suspicious ie Facebook sales etc

Should add that’s for home games. Away games you need to turn up with ID in whatever city we are playing in and collect in person unless the odd time it’s security risk , Serbia away and Italy in Naples last two they didn’t bother with iirc and just sent tickets electronically

Listening to you complain.
do you mean fellow branch members suffering or fellow fans suffering? if the former i rest my case.
do you not think it's all a bit unfair?
Read it again. Under the Additional ticket info bit
is this the one from ashley lowerson?
i can't see any additional ticket info on mine, the only relevant bit is
If your ticket shows a red light at the turnstile, you will be directed to the Ticket Office

I think fans suffering would be banning them for life for passing tickets on.

Which is what you wanted earlier in this thread. I think that’s a bit unfair.

Anyway crack on, we obviously disagree and it’s boring repeating myself to you.

i did say that and in hindsight it was poor form which i retracted. you don't have to reply you know.
it's all a bit hypocrytical really.

Nah it’s actually on the away ticket download information email.

Says tickets are not transferrable and that random spot checks will be undertaken.

Doesn’t specify id or what id would be accepted, neither does the FAQ piece so as per usual with ticket information it’s nice and clear

No she is the deputy safety officer and is not part of the ticket office. The email about your West Ham ticket download

Has anyone on here been caught out yet. Had a ticket passed on to them and then got fucked over with an ID check. Did you try your luck at the ticket office or did you just not bother and fuck off. If someone gets done on an id check what happens to the original ticket holder?
