ID checks for away tickets

Nah that wouldn’t work.

You’d probably have to change your name by deed poll. If you get the season ticket put in your own name when it renews you’d get your points wiped
Yeah that's my issue with points. Tickets office was no help back when he gave his ST up and I wanted to move my ticket into his seat, couldn't guarantee seat being kept so just took his over. Then obviously built points myself in the years since. Might have to find some 'ID' somewhere online

Which is my right to do as is others.

Dont worry about what other people do.
Ive no email.so I wont be getting checked.
But makes no difference as Ive no ID

It was a Man City thing.
Unless you know better than a Supervisor steward
😂😂
I mean it’s your right not to carry ID. But if it’s required to do certain things like buy alcohol, hire a car etc and they ask for ID then you’re screwed.

You can transfer the points built up. When my grandad passed asway I transferred his customer number to my daughter and she got his points and number.

Agree, but like so many these days, you appear to think that “rights” only work one way.

As I’ve said, you absolutely have the right to carry no ID but the club also has the right to refuse you entry.

It would be a pyrrhic victory exercising your rights while locked outside a football ground.

Dont worry mate.

As you say. Thats my right. 😊

As you rightly say. Thats my right 😊

Ive got no email.
But makes zero difference

When was that? I don’t think that’s meant to be the case.

I transferred a junior account this summer and everything was wiped and set up with a new number

Why can’t they just issue a statement saying X amount of tickets at every away game will be deactivated & spot checked for ID? Instead of emailing people at this time the night before
I use my work email becuase I never used to get ermails from the club on my personal gmail. I dont have work email on my phone and I left at 4pm yesterday. Its not a big issue as I have my Irish passport card in my wallet, but I wont know if I am getting checked till I get to the turnstyle.

It would be good if the club offered a way of transferring the ticket to someone elses account in the event of an emergency and the ticket holder can’t go. Maybe if you do that you give up the black cat point.

Would stop people doing it to build up points and surely must be better than the seat going empty.

Dunno why they can’t just make it so that the ticket is sent to the st holders phone and can’t be sent on.

The closed shop gang will have us believe tickets are all passed on.
Whilst I know some do it. I accept that.

But say a season ticket holder is on 60 points meaning theyve put the "hard miles in" why them give away your ticket for Anfield or Old Trafford....
Makes no sense

He passed away 7 years ago. I went in to the ticket office at the time and transferred his name on his season ticket to her name and the points and customer number transferred

It is my right as a citizen of the UK to not carry ID. If I CHOOSE too.

So no.
I dont know why youre chirping on about it being your right to carry ID if you choose to (well it doesn't need a rocket scientist to work out why carrying id has annoyed you). Sometimes in life we need to carry id if we want to do certain things. And whilst its a bit of a pain we may need to carry id if we want to go to the match on occasion. But knowing this you're still not going to do so.

Although I have mates who have built up a rake of points by letting others use their number to buy tickets, I also have mates who just can't get a ticket.

I think it's a good idea, but it needs to be a bit more flexible. Advise a ticket holder to collect a paper ticket at the away ground but allow them to use their digital ticket (in the case whwre they are running late). If they repeatedly do this then enforce the paper ticket. It would require some integration of ticketing systems, but it doesn't sound that difficult.

Black market resales aren't just about corporate greed, they're about industries not making enough effort to stop touts making huge profits at the expense of ordinary fans.
There is a small element of that.
But (my opinion I guess), as Ticketmaster/Music Industry has shown and now FIFA with the World Cup ticket prices, its becoming more and more about gouging as much as possible out of "customers" and if there are any third parties making themselves some coin then they want them squeezed out of the equation so that they can have the profits themselves.

SAFC have installed the Ticket Resale option for home games now. Whilst it might not be much, for every ticket resold, they make extra revenue from it. The bigger clubs make a lot more revenue than SAFC as well from such Ticket Resale options.
Reality is, the passing on / reselling of tickets will soon follow the same path and be made (almost) impossible to do unless you follow the official path.

Whilst there are loads on here moaning about people passing on tickets etc, in the +35 years I have been following SAFC, there has always been people asking around for spare tickets and there has always been people willing or able to help out their fellow supporters as best they can. Never has this culture of "I'm a better than someone else" really been too prevalent in my opinion. At least with the changes coming it will satisfy that culture, but at the same time its going to make it real difficult for a lot of very dedicated exiled supporters who often make up a fair number of our away support at the longer distance / London games which will be a real shame (got to know a fair few over the years and they're some top people amongst them).

But as long as we are controlling people and getting more coin out of them then all is good.

What are you waffling on about now? Absolutely nobody has said you haven't earnt your right to go to away games this season.

And as for ID I suspect the current govt introducing them has really triggered you as its some kind of breach of your civil liberties or something.
