ID checks for away tickets

There were checks yesterday. Someone in my group. Digital ticket scan went red at the gate and they were told they had to go to the little away ticket office just down the steps/round the corner. Showed their ID and a (paper) ticket was waiting for them in an envelope with their name on.
Didn't see or hear anyone getting checked today. Away ticket office was right there and didn't see anyone going to it. Was one lass in there working looked bored
Can confirm it was one lass and she did look bored! But there were definitely some checks (without email warning)

Would be nice to just be able to do what we want, and go to the turnstiles at 1445 like we have been doing for decades
In general I agree with your position on this current topic being discussed, however how manageable would the situation be if all 3000 fans turned up at 14:45?

The checking at Brentford is supposedly going to be OTT even asking to see inside your wallet/purse etc?
They haven't got authority to do that unless it's the police.
The coppers once asked for my wallet when I was going into Oxford Utd late 80's. They checked all my cards to see if I'd sharpened the edges then pulled me back again and checked inside my shoes as I told them i was a fecking Sunderland fan - I was going into the away end for Oxford vs Pompey game with a mate and his group of Pompey neanderthals mates. None of them got checked!

The way to sort this out for all prem clubs is for the prem to force clubs to offer a percentage of the total ground capacity like the FA cup. Smaller clubs can agree on a smaller allocation and then the home club can sell off the extra seats to their home fans. It would mean that most people in the ground would be there on their own custom numbers. It would also have the effect of improving the atmosphere in these big stadia making a better product for tv.

So season ticket holders at Sunderland would have to give up their seats at the SOL? No chance

We could accommodate another 3k or so at the sol without effecting season ticket holders, I do think it would improve atmosphere in general having at least 10% of grounds for aways, we would have 6k at likes of spurs for example

That would make for a shitter away end

Always crap atmospheres when we have bigger allocations and it’s full of families making a day of it and groups of lads who are there only to get pissed
