ID checks for away tickets

Is there a process for giving your ticket back ?

If my car brakes down today, is there some way I can officially give my ticket back to the club to sell on ?

Because if I was to forward it on to someone who is in Manchester without a ticket who is looking for a ticket , I could get my season ticket banned .. I'm not sure the punishment fits the crime
no idea, there's always the ask safc to try. there must be a way of handing them back otherwise you wouldn't see them popping up on sle now and then before games there's a lot of excuses and hypothetical scenarios people are using to gain points whereas genuine fans are missing out.

yes, he should've handed it back to the club. what's this 'reserve list'? that's laughable. no wonder they're doing id checks when the branches are less than trustworthy.
hope your uncle is on the mend by the way.

Handed it back to the club so the ticket could’ve went unused? Rather than give it to someone who wanted to go. A reserve list is used if people fall ill, can’t attend for whatever reasons. I’m glad I didn’t get a ticket for today as due to personal reasons I wouldn’t make it (last minute)

Sure the mags when they started this just had staff check on approach to turnstiles, raking seconds, rather than forcing folk to ticket office.

Slight concern as bar old trafford where i get freebies im unlikely to qualify for away tickets again so need second hand ones.

Slap on the wrist probably fine unless it becomes a regular thing.

Its my birthday mate, if yer car brakes down ill take it cheers 😉
aye, i'd agree. a slap on the wrist is better than i originally said. something has to be done though.
it's reggie's birthday as well, are you him?

how do you know it would be unused. like i mentioned before, look at the other games with tickets coming back on sale. they're 100% going to go to someone with the correct points, not someone on a 'reserve list'.
edit, i'm off to the match now. haway the 3 points and no bookings for xhaka/sadiki.

Do people who are employed by the club still get 2 tickets for every home game ? I thought the club may have stopped that with us being in the Prem, just as a way of gaining extra revenue

So really wanted to go, with son, tried every contact, seems away games are out of reach now’ maybe bar cup/friendlies.

It was passed on last minute to another branch member. It got used. Nobody gained or lost anything from it. Again you said he should be banned. It was fellow supporters helping out one another.

I’ll agree to disagree but you come across as bitter, I think you’ll be visited by three spirits on Christmas Eve.

Can't believe someone is so angry because another fan got to go to the game

Well, the club may be saying the same.

Again innocent occasions like this must occur every game bus someone say getting 19 away tickets n travelling to 10 isnt fair.

I ageee mate but how many people pull out last minute, passing a ticket on to help out a fellow supporter legit isn’t worthy of banning someone.

I was taking to a woman who works for the club and she says they get a season ticket as a perk of the job not sure if they get any extra tickets aswel

Proving genuine cases v regular non attenders is gonna be nigh on impossible.

Love aways me. Its only right though that those who endured the shite are now living the dream (4 points from stamford bridge n annfield ffs 😎).

Just a suggestion, do it the same way you pass on home tickets, using the ID number. If it’s your ticket and you pass it on to another supporter, for whatever reasons, I can’t see the problem.

Easier said than done if it’s last minute.

Particularly if receiver is on similar points I guess.

There's a time point at which clubs have to declare the sales to the home club, and return unsold tickets. That's usually a couple of days before the match. Ticket office staff don't work on weekends when we're away., and any problems need to be raised before lunchtime on Friday if there's a need to duplicates to be available at the opponent's ticket office. Anyone falling ill or having a family emergency close to the match can't get the club to resell it - the club have no way to get that ticket on sale.

They’ve been doing it on the continent for years. I was at Inter Milan a few weeks back and they checked tickets and ID of everyone.
