Iancarlo Poveda (now signed)

Just texted my Sheff Wed supporting mate and asked about him, I’ll quote the full conversation, doesn’t appear too happy about us getting him:

“Most technically gifted player I’ve seen at Wednesday for 20 years. But was injured a lot. If someone could keep him fit he would be superb

Sunderland after him then?

Poveda was amazing. But he had two hamstring injuries in 6 months with us. He only managed 10 games from Jan to the end of the season. Best player on the pitch though when he played

He’s also ruled by his agent. He wanted to come back to us but they can’t agree a deal. Every other player we’ve wanted to resign has been desperate to come back and pushed things through. He’s the only one that we’ve struggled with.
No way he should be joining you boys over us, apart from for money”

😂😂😂
I reckon he’s basing that on their upturn in form and us being completely wank the last 4 months of the season.

He’s not aware of super RLB yet.

People thinking Poveda would be replacing Clarke man  some reet fruitloops on here like.

Depending on what role Tommy Watson will play this season id say we're one winger short mesel. Clarke, Roberts, Ba and Poveda wouldnt be the worst with Watson involved too.
Bennette

Not against it, but makes me wonder who might be leaving. We can’t just keep stockpiling attacking midfielders/ wingers. That would be Clarke, Roberts, Ba, Bennette, Mundle, Poveda, Jobe, Embleton, Aouchiche and Rigg. 10 players for 3 spots is at least a couple too many.
Jewi will leave imo.

This lad is more a wide player.

Jobe, Embo, Aouchiche & Rigg are more central so don’t really come into competition for those places.

That’s Clarke, Roberts, Ba, Mundle, Poveda & Watson as wide options (Clarke may also leave). Seems okay to me.

Will have to see how RLB wants to set up.

Well, still limits some players game time who are here. Unless they get moved on, which one or two may have to.

You could probably stick Rusyn in there as well tbh.

Embleton won’t be here much longer, imo.

Watson won't be involved in first team

3 goals and 5 assists in 70 league apps suggests otherwise.

Simialar to Roberts before he came though, never really found his “home” has he?

Roberts form just massively dipped from the moment Amad left, would love to see it come back but personally think his time with us is up.
