Our lack of a main striker was the biggest issue, unsurprisingly. 15 goals from Clarke with a few more chipped in from midfield, would have had us better off.
Maybe, Broadhead was Ipswich top scorer last season with just 13, but they had loads of players weighing in with goals. As you say we just had 1 who got into double figures (Ipswich had 3) and he's perpetually linked with leaving the club.

Not a massive amount of minutes though.

55 games at Championship level, averaging 40 minutes a game. He might just need the right opportunity.
Wonder why his minutes are so limited. Hopefully he takes a claim on the shirt, he's been around a lot of clubs now (similar to Roberts again). Quite a lot of competition now, Clarke, Poveda, Roberts, Mundle, Ba, Watson, Jewi, Rusyn and even Rigg if that idiot Dodd's has any input. I have probably forgotten somebody?

It was a general lack of goals, we had 2 strikers (not just 1) the year before who despite not playing much contributed and shed loads of goals and we had Amad. This solves nothing, we need players who provide an end product.

It was but a striker who could get us 10-15 goals would have put us on a trajectory closer to that of the top ten, at least.

The team needs to score more generally, but we were abject for six months so not that surprising.

Not sure about this at all.

If he is Clarke’s replacement, we had better be spending some good money on a striker. Because we are going to be short of goals.

Probably 'cos he's relatively young, has bounced about on loan and has never really been settled anywhere. It happens.

The lad's also played in the Premier League.

Predominantly a right winger, so sounds like he'll be competition for Roberts.

From my Leeds SC mate:

Sorry, never did it for me. Plays on the right and cuts in on his left foot. Bielsa got him for 100k from Man City's youth team and never really played him. Since then he's been loaned out here there and everywhere, think he was at Wednesday last season. He tends to start well, people admire his skill but he's limited.

(don't shoot the messenger)
Whereas my mates thought he was good but needed a run in the team.

Wasn't he pretty much guaranteed to start at Sheff Wed?

Does make you wonder if the intention is to try him on the left as Clarke's replacement as I'm sure he has played left, Right, and as a 10. Doubt he's come here to sit on the bench.

Browne and Poveda signing has probably doubled the number of players we've signed the last couple of years that I've heard of before they came here.

Sheff Wed fans were hoping he'd stay on there so that's a good sign.

Sheff Wed fans did want him, and Rohl was negotiating with Poveda & his agent for a fair while. If Rohl rates him, it’s a good starting point since loads on here wanted him in as manager.

That's what I'm saying.

He must have been told he's in the first team plans to choose us over a club and fans that clearly wanted him so where does he play? Is Roberts now Poveda's understudy or is he seen as Clarkes replacement?

Maybe he’ll play as a ten.
