Ian Poveda (transfer rumours)

I'm keep hearing we need experience but no one can give me a definitive answer what it is. I'm interested to know at what point a player turned from inexperienced to experience. Obviously you can't answer that.

This lad is almost 25 and played played the majority of his football in the Championship. Played a decent amount in the PL and internationally with England through the age groups and senior with Columbia.

Experience is usually someone who is at their peak or slightly older and has played a lot of football. This lad is neither but I'm more bothered about the fact he's another attacker who doesn't actually score or assist.

Add onto the fact he's another 'attacker' that rarely scores any goals and that'll be us playing him as the main striker then.

We are desperate for players who actually try shooting once in a while and yet again (if this is true) he's another player who doesn't.

And doesn't score, we need players who do
He wouldn't be playing as our main striker.

And you think 76 appearances is an experienced player come now. Experience is over 200 games minimum like I have said previously, I have noticed your one those on this board though who has to have a differing opinion to most.

He doesn't assist or score, we've already got Roberts to fill the role of take a player on and then do fuck all
Cracking little player. Who are you expecting us to get in under this model then who will get say 10 assists and 10 goals??

Were you saying that season before last about Roberts..i must have missed your posts.

Who said I wanted someone who scores and assists 10 times?
And yes I was, I've always said it about Roberts, he's never scored or assisted enough.

Ok then..who or what are you exoecting under this set up and model? Poveda is a cracking footballer, under this model we wont be getting players with goals and assists to their names. Need to be realistic under this set up.
He would give us an outball with his pace. I’d like a goal scorer mind but rather this than another technical type who slows us down. Got to move forward quicker this season.
Football is much more than goals and assists...those who know, know mate😜

Completely disagree with that, goals are everything in football. Without them at one end and too many at the other and you'll be doing shite in no time at all. We need people who can create and score goals, we lost Stewart, Simms and Amad this season replacing them with Burstow, Hemir and Bellingham and look what has happened. We absolutely and desperately need players who are involved in scoring goals. We'll be bottom half again next season without them

Bellingham is a bad example mind . He’s scored a few and a few worldies.

It's not that bad an example, he scored half the amount Amad did and my point was to show how we had gone from over 30 goals last season to 8 this with the comparison I made.

I'm not unhappy about his personal contribution goals wise but I am about the overall situation we ended up in.

Aye agreed. Amad to Burstow loan quality is like Timmy Taylor’s Landlord to Budweiser.

So 200 is the magic number

As an indicator of the type of experience we need, 200 games at championship/premiership level isn’t a bad shout.
There are obviously other factors involved and this is not a hard and fast cut off point but it’s in the ballpark for what we should be looking for.

Pretty clueless, cant wait to see you go against the grain this summer trying to be different.

Interesting points. I wonder if you feel the rumoured signing of Chris Willock would satisfy the experienced player criteria?
