Ian Holloway

A random person with no affinity to a random club sounds familiar
yes most football managers are like that...peter reid was a boyhood liverpool fan...but he wanted to succeed in life..so when a randomn club like sunderland came knocking..he tried to win..

hollway doesnt care if swindon win is the difference

man has been a charlatan for years..with swindon..they werent getting results so he made up some gubbins about the training ground being haunted or something...anything other than he is failing..he needs 11 games to achive 1000 as a manager which puts one in the hall of fame...he cares nowt for swindon or for achivement if he can get that number///
Guided 2 clubs to Play off finals, saved 2 clubs from probable relegation, and promoted twice to the Premier League with different clubs.

But he's a charlatan.

He's not doing a great job where he is now, but you cannot knock some of his acheivements. He's as mad as a box of frogs, but a lot of managers haven't got success on their records to even get close to some of his acheivements, and they included unfashionable smaller clubs like Blackpool and QPR.

And how the fuck do you know that ?

You don't half talk shite most of the time man.

yes he achieved a bit years ago...but hardly in the patneon of the greats..
albeit i think it was palace and blackpool rather than QPR and blackpool he got to the premier league...QPR he won league one with?
But yes has achieved a bit...and a bit more than I had realised..still been years since he was any good though

Never said he got QPR to the Prem.
He got promoted with them in League one as you point out.
I said he was at unfashionable clubs and quoted QPR as one of them.

And yes he achieved more than you realised, because true to form, you let your gob run off before engaging the grey matter.

He has two promotions to the Premier League on his cv, and many other relative successes that other, more lauded managers would only dream of.

But you KNOW he doesn't care, so that's it. He's a charlatan.

Shut up man.

which more lauded managers do you think have achieved less?
Hollwoay is very lauded because of his liking for publicity...
Three promotions for holloway is good from 1,000 games..
Steve Bruce also has 1,000 games, do you view him as more lauded?
Whether he is or not, he has more promotions.
Who do you think is more lauded....only 26 english managers have done 1,000 games..holloway will hit that number very soon, and I think its worth comapring him with them.

Howes record doesnt stand up to that, Dyche has achieved fuck all like that. Moyes has never got anywhere near that.

Do you need me to go on.

Potter....no, Bruce...possibly.

There is a long list of managers with nowhere near the successes he has had at unfashionable clubs with no money to spend.

And you claiming groundlessly that he doesn't care is just fuckin bollox man.

You ever met the bloke, spoken to him, or spent time in his company to assess and decide on his character or desire?

Just shut up and have another Frosty man.

Moyes hasnt achieved more? Moyes has not had to get a lot of promotions because he has been operating in the top flight..he has loads of top ten premier league finishes...managed in the championship league at quarter final level and won a european trophy,..Potter has numerous promotions and operated at the top end of the premier league..to suggest holloway has achieved more than moyes is ludicrous.for most of moyes career he has operated on a different level than holloway..holloway is mostly a journeyman league manager..moyes a premier league manager...albeit he has a lower league promotion as well

Moyes has won 1 promotion, and the European Conference.

He has singularly failed to win fuck all with Everton or any other club other than Preston or West Ham.

He was fuckin putrid for us.

Dyche has won promotion as a runner up. Fuck all else, and plays fuckin awful football.

Potter had lower league success in Sweden but won fuck all in his career in England despite one of his clubs being Chelsea ffs.

You really need to look beyond the bollox and hype before you start extolling the virtues of these people.

Now haven't you got any other subjects to express your "expert" opinion on somewhere 🤣

achievement isnt solely measured by promotions...moyes achieved two of west hams four best finishes in theur history..at everton its harder to measure what success looks like...It shouldnt just be keep them up...because every one of the cast of managers they have had since moyes has done that..but few of those managers have achieved a league position higher than moyes did with them...
Dyche took burnely into Europe for the first time in half a century..none of the cast of managers who succeeded him have done that..thats a singurlarly greater achievement than winniing league one with QPR! Dyche has alsoi had fewer opportunities to do it...he has managed hundreds fewer games than Holloway...
Potter isnt a good comparator as he has managed a fravtion of the games in england that holloway has..I do think potter is over rated...events at brighton since his departue arguably vindicate that vuew..though he has some ac hievements in his career..

I read a piece the other day where a particular sports side was voted the best, over a 6/10 years period, because although they had won slightly less silverware over that period they had actually won more games.

If Ferguson gets best manager award 4 lifting more silverware, can we say he is a manager who played in a certain style?
Which manager brought about the West Ham Way?
Some managers are motivators who can temporarily lift and bond players.
I don't think it is true, but did Bob Stokoe do that in 1973,in the FA Cup,but not so much in League games.
Obviously,Sunderland have suffered from boardroom issues.
Some club managers struggle with other off field issues, like moving to new stadia, changing directors of football, data analysts and academy coaches.
Holloway has accepted a job where the owner is despised and there are financial concerns. That must impact on the players.
Every club has unique problems at different times.
Difficult judging one fella for either the success or the failure.

his few games at swindon are scarcely relevant to judge his career overall of course.

Kendall won the League with Everton.

You asked for more lauded managers, and Potter is in that bracket.

You will twist and turn, change your peramiters to suit, and not have the decency to admit you're wrong.

And to accuse the bloke of not caring with no evidence is just fuckin screaming for either a qualification or an apology.
But you choose to ignore that bit.

You are a bar room bore marra, pontificating on stuff you know fuck all about, as you yourself even admitted earlier.

Toddle off man.
