I was there on the Monday.
By teatime I’d sneaked into the grandstand seats, so my memories of Botham’s knock are very similar to the tv coverage

Iv'e mentioned this before but when he played in the Callers Pegasus cricket festival at Jesmond. whilst all the other players were tucking into their lunch Botham stood outside
signing autographs for the full lunch break, so not all bad eh?
As previous posters have said, his fund raing walks were a phenomenal feat.

Im not knocking his achievements. One of the greatest players of all time and certainly a hero of mine, but someone asked why he can be disliked and I just pointed out some of his misdemeanours.
