And the tactics he's got us playing are good, he's got us looking organised and hard to beat, which is a relief after the way we started the season.
However, I would question some of his personnel selections. Gardner/Borini for me weren't very good tonight, and there are obvious replacements for them. Some of his subs are strange too...... maybe he thinks Giaccherini can't last 90 minutes, but even with him tiring, he was more effective than those mentioned.
It's a small thing, and he does make some great calls, like Altidore tonight, was obviously more suited for this kinda game..... he's built the team around Ki and dropped him very deep, he's put faith in Mannone, Bardsley and Dossena (not sure about the last one but he's the only option really). I just don't think Gardner fits the team well, even O'Shea has learned to pass to his own team, but Gardner hasn't really...and I know he can shoot and gets forward, but tbh, I'd rather let Colback or Larsson do that.
And Borini doesn't really look like a wideman to me, he does a good Tommy Miller impression. Johnson gets a lot of slack, but at least he gets on the ball. Or maybe give one of the young lads a go.
