Hume Hybrid Role

Hume must be the nosherrrrr of the squad , if he isn’t good enough to play right back , then he is on bench, weak link of this team

Not just after last night but in a few recent games I think that once Tarore is fit Hume will be on the bench. I think that this particular experiment is, in the long run, never going to work out the way the coaching staff want it to.

I agree we need to change it and play an out and out winger, however…it’s ironic that our best play comes from down the right and Hume/Mukieke provide our best crosses. That’s the worry on our winger front for me.

Hume hasn’t played bad (bar West Ham) but he’s not a positive having him in the side in that role. Without doing anything in particular wrong he just shouldn’t be playing there when we have better options that give us more of a threat and balance.

How is misplacing half your passes not doing something wrong though?

He's not a captain either.
Never seen the camera on him and he's organising anyone unlike Xhaka who never stops. He's alright for the coin toss. Still he is Northern Ireland captain and Regis says he is very talkative in dressing room so he must have excellent leadership ability.

Hume excellent tnite, RLB nailed it tactically never an easy game in Prem but we made it easy 💪

Hume was better than he has been, but excellent? I didn't see that like. Whenever he has the ball to himself he does absolutely fuck all. Not saying he can't improve cos we've seen that he can, but at the min I'm not seeing excellent like, am I fuck.

Ah fuck, just noticed this was an old post, thought you were on about the L/Pool game, soz.

While we're on Hume what were them throw ins about? Constantly looked like he was gearing up for a long throw and then throws it short and which would just end up back to Roefs or losing it.

Not a long term answer. Can’t think of anyone currently available who’d be better. I think people get a bee in their bonnet unless players rigidly play in the same position all the time and decide that’s the problem when we lose. As you can’t watch the last three games and think Hume has been the major issue.

the problem people arnt getting about this role isn’t about hume in particular it’s mainly about a right back playing out of position which is making the full team unbalanced as said before afcon was understandable but now a just don’t get why he is persisting with it

Because then you have to pay a LW out of position. Someone has to play out of position.

Wow

Not really, Talbi played mostly at RW before joining and Angulo can also play both wings.
Moving any of them on the other side won't be as disruptive as playing a RB out of position.

I also think this is having an impact on Reinildo's role. Remember the first part of the season where he was bombing forward and often positioned inbetween a teams RB and CB to link things up. That isn't happening and he's not really committing himself forward much at all in general.

Might just be a coincidence but his role has definitely became more reserved imo
