Hume Hybrid Role

Doing alright  who finishes watching that and goes searching for pass completion rates?

Funny isn't it?....People will say Mundle isn't great going forward, but is strong defensively. Hume, gets forward, links up well, puts crosses in, gets shots off, and also puts the hard yards in at the back with tackles, and cuts out chances and some berk has a go try and dig out a stat to try and prove a point.

He was brilliant tonight.

He'll do the scrapy things on the right that allow Mukiele and Diarra to play with a bit of freedom. Tonight they did it so it worked. If they don't do it Hume looks a passenger.

Hooked at half time last week (rightly so) and criticised heavily (rightly so) but he was very good tonight. Probably helped by Burnley being awful but important he bounced back. Feel more comfortable with him sitting a bit more and allowing muikele to attack, probably testament to the fact that hybrid role isn’t perfect for him but hes doing a job he’s been asked to do

Plenty other sloppy passes from a few players, but an overall excellent team performance.
Mukiele was worst tonight for egregious possession giveaways under little pressure.

Edit: was great overall so don’t give a fuck:lol:

I don't think people wrote him off at all. But he struggled badly last week in a more orthodox midfield role.
Check back on the comments, a moan of posters have been after him for months. Urging the inclusion of a player who was after a move on f***ing loan ahead of a lad who gives his all every game regardless of where he's asked to play. Thankfully Regis knows what he brings to the side and how important he is for us right now. He's 23 years old and our skipper for a reason.

What would you say he brings to the team in this hybrid role?
