Hull City

Patience is a rare thing among fans. “Daring to dream” doesn’t feel so smart now.

This is what I came in the thread for. & there were loads more posts from the usual suspects with the age old golden line “at least they’re showing ambition”.

These were the same supporters that watched our club be in possible danger of going under because of financial mismanagement

They finished 7th and 3 points behind 6th place Norwich.

It could have paid off but you coukd see the red flags with their owner with the stories off the pitch.
It reminded me of Wigan when in League1!
That was hilarious all their fans coming on here giving it the big un when they got promoted and then insisting everything was fine when they stopped paying their players. Wonder what happened to them 🤔

Fuck em. Call me a plastic but the local non league scene will be getting my business next season. Not paying some crook to watch my club get stuffed every week. Useless ****.

Does @East Yorkshire City still get on here? Pennies for your thoughts please as you seemed to think things were fine a while ago?

Football fans can be so blind when it comes to their own clubs.

As an outsider I was worried about your club as the chairman seemed to be on another planet but a lot of Hull fans lapped it up and thought he was the best thing ever.
It's easy to get caught up in the excitement of everything but it never felt right from my point of view!

Used to always play as Hull for some reason on Championship Manager 01/02, in division three. Would’ve only been a kid, think I liked the badge. Did well with Ian Goodinson 🇯🇲 at the back

I was surprised tbh. Hull folk are usually more down to earth, cynical and untrusting of such people. I certainly am. We've f***ing had enough of them over the years after all ffs!

It was probably partly down to who he was replacing.

It isn't just Hull fans mind!

The EFL should stop letting these dodgepots buy clubs, then punishing the fans of said clubs when said dodgepot acts like a dodgepot. It's always the fans who get hurt, my sympathy goes to the hullards.
Problem is the EFL just see the piles of cash, they don't see shady owners
The geezers at Reading, Sheffield & Hull just flashed the cash

Worked in Hull back in the 90s and generally the locals were great. The football club just felt a bit.... Fake?
The 90s were a strange decade for sport in Hull tbf. Rugby clubs getting moved to Gateshead and almost going under, football club in all sorts of strife (again) with various high profile owners getting involved, promising the world then causing financial chaos (again)

Someone a friend of mine loosely knows wrote a book about Hull City. His line manager who also supports the TIgers had lent him it and he has in turn passed it on to me, but I haven't turned a page yet.... it's supposed to be good though. Also goes on about music scene which may be more appealing to me.
