If I watched a TV show where exactly what you outlined happened I would be calling bullshit and pointing out how unrealistic TV shows were.
When I'm watching all these "police squad" type real life police programmes I'm always shocked at the shite the police put up with and the effort they have to go to to get a conviction with a six month suspended sentence or a poxy couple of hundred quid fine. That's bad enough.A lot of stories I could tell you about the criminal justice system would shock you, sure @Vinny the Mackem could tell of even more shockers too
