How much would you pay for a final ticket?

If/when Sunderland make it to a final on foreign soil, your fan base is going to dwarf allocation. As it would with many clubs given UEFA's willingness to continually f*ck fans over in favour of the corporates.

Official tickets for our final in Istanbul were between £65 and £190, however these were only available to 10,000 Villa fans, out of a 43,000 capacity stadium.

As many of us have paid many times the official price to make sure we get a ticket (mostly bought from corporate resellers that were given tickets free), I'm wondering how much is too much?

Additionally, as we only had 12 days notice for the final for some f*cked up reason, many fans are paying over a grand just for flights to Istanbul.

As football fans who are loyal to our clubs, rational thinking goes out the window at times like this and so people spend fortunes to have a shot at glory.

My question therefore is, what would you pay for a Europa final and is there a point where you wouldn't do it on principle?

Very difficult to gauge. I’d pay an extortionate amount being honest. But would whinge like an almighty bitch at being robbed despite enabling this absolute farce and what seems an outright hatred of the football fan.
Bit of a no win for the genuine fan I feel.

Rough estimate would be 5-6x face value of any given ticket

I’ve never seen us play in Europe, so im guessing I’d be desperate to be there. Would depend on circumstances at the time. I’d luckily be guaranteed a ticket. Could always drive depending on where it is.

I'd just watch it wherever most of my pals are to be honest.

Not overly fussed about being in the Stadium, if flights were reasonable I could be tempted to go over with a good group of us, but I'd be in no real rush to spend over the odds just to get in the stadium.

If i couldn’t get one through the club with my season card eligibility,I wouldn’t bother otherwise.Too many dodgepots selling tickets outside official lines.Plus hate the idea of anyone taking the piss due to my loyalty to SAFC.Does this make me less of a supporter?

I wouldn't get anywhere near getting a ticket for ours, the fans who have gone away from the start of the tournament should get first dibs.

I'm excited enough about watching it on telly with mates and a few beers, and the rest of the week booked off work to nurse either a happy hangover or a grouchy hangover.

Got a couple of mates who are Newcastle fans and have been to all the European away days, they've kept the price down by taking weird flights but having a day in Berlin or somewhere first and then just flying into Barcelona on the day of the match from Berlin instead of direct as any direct flights from Newcastle have been stupid plus less need for hotels in the city where the match is. UEFA really should have 2 or 3 stadiums on stand by for the finals of the 2 lesser European competitions and then pick the best one depending on the teams and how many theyd sell.

How have those 10000 been distributed? Loyalty system, ballot?
Season ticket holders with 7 home Europa games and 2 aways then just 7 home Europa games.

Problem is, can't get away tickets because the same 3,000 fans buy a ticket every week and sell it on if they can't go so it's a closed shop.

Additionally we have 30k season ticket holders and 33k on the waiting list.

There's thousands of Villa in the "neutral" ends but to give half the ground to corporates who then rinse the actual fans on resale sites is so wrong.

And yet, so totally expected.

Whatever it took. Simple.

Depends how much is in my bank and what my other priorities are ... certainly no more than I could afford. Seems reasonable

Won’t happen in my lifetime…..

I’d happily travel to the city and not go to the game. I’m usually too pissed to appreciate the game anyway

I'd just like to see us get into Europe in my lifetime, its been 50+ years

About a 3rd of the 92 have been in Europe in the time so I can't even contemplate an actual final
