Getting Sunderland into the Premier League for £100m is reasonable, how much to make them a stable Top Flight side? another £100m? Watford have spent over £190m in the past 3 seasons. And the gap between Premier League and Championship finances is only ever going to grow wider.

Clearly if he had £250m to spend he’d get top 6 though
 
This take over all depends on Ashley's need or preference for some cash over assets.

I doubt if anyone knows anything about it. People ready to spend hundreds so millions do not need to be tipping of journalists. Especially when they have signed legally binding NDAs.

Benitez will not be walking anywhere whatever the outcome. No matter he is a wealthy man, giving up £4m a year is not going to happen, and his stock is no longer so high that he could get it somewhere else easily. Wenger must know he is finished at Arsenal, but he is on £8m plus a year , very hard to give up.

Ashley, has ran the place we'll enough over the years, to the extent that they are a saleable club. Mind, he has internalised massive debts, well north of £100m.

Sure he'll sell mesell somehow, and that there will be a splurge of excited transfer activity. We'll see how it all works out. Football is eating itself now.
