Kissed, cocktails, played a couple of Pogues tunes, strummed along to Fairy tale of New York A Tony Bennett song, the banana boat song by Harry Belefonte. Love like blood by Killing Joke.

Mam danced (I have a big bay window onto a residential street).

Listened to Ave Maria by Maria Callas, balled my eyes out went to bed.

Was simultaneously watching Jools Holland on iPlayer, and Connor McGregor’s grand announcement on my phone.

Looked at the time and realised that it’d already turned midnight while I was engrossed in McGregors drunken, coked up gobshitery. Fortunately, due to the one minute time delay on iPlayer I got a second chance at life, and as soon as they finished the countdown, I promptly turned it off and ignored a load of HNY messages.
