How did Sunderland win the Play-Offs

Right then. Here it is. Too young, too naive, lacking experience they all said. Well the pundits were wrong.

They were also wrong about Sheffield United dominating the game. The first 20 minutes Sunderland were under the cosh, but slowly through a series of small tactical changes Sunderland grew into the game and ended up dominating possession and having almost as many shots and chances as the Blades. So what did the pundits miss and just how did Regis Le Bris turn the youngest team in the Football League into Championship Play-Off winners.

Well come in and take a look and do me a favour; stay 'til the end'. There's a treat to finish with. Enjoy everyone.

Thanks for that @10 Trenches Deep
First time I’ve watched any of it back.
I never stopped believing!

I agree. I think his best position as a deeper midfielder. Alongside Neil as part of a double pivot will be where we play his next season I think. But who knows. In Regis I believe.
Interesting - it was noticeable at Wembley how he got more influential as he moved deeper. After Wembley I thought he may replace Dan Neil next season in the deeper role, I didn’t realise you could have a double pivot!

Not quite. 'The 5 Reasons Sunderland sacked Mowbray' got 24K about 18 months ago. (Mowbray only left 18 months ago!? ..amazing what has happened since then)

But this video is by far the fastest/most popular one. Not surprising, we've all been lucky enough to be there at the best moment in the last 30 years.

Look, I'm extremely grateful to everyone. My over-riding principle is to think about what I want to watch and then try to make that as best I can. I'm not going to make money in any meaningful way so I am committed to things always being free and I always disable (when I remember) the google auto ads from one every 2 minutes to only having one at half time. And prompt me if I don't. I don't want to spoil the narrative. In general I want to explain, entertain and most of all I want to record how we felt at the time of games, so If I can make something honest and focus on the quality of it then the rest will follow. And the feedback/criticism people give I always try to take on-board. I'm bound to get things wrong at times.

TY everyone again. I hope that with EPL officiousness, I'm able to keep going next year, but these originally began because I wanted to watch stuff about us in League One and there was nothing on TV or the internet about our games and tactics or matches in a MOTD type of way bar the 20 seconds in the late night EFL programme. Getting back to the Premier League might now make me superfluous and if that happens then my purpose (like Frankie and Danny) in those wilderness years has been served. Let's see what next season brings.
Next seasons will be interesting to say the least .

Did both teams sell their total allocation? Looked like plenty of empty seats on the replays.

At Wembley? The empty seats are the sheffield end. Obviously we sold out completely and could have shifted another 10k no bother. There was about 6k empty in a two big sections in the Sheffield end. One of their fans came on here before the tickets went on sale and said they wouldn't sell more than 30k and listed the reasons why.

Yeah. Figured we’d sell out. Wasn’t sure if all 90k seats were put up for sale either.
