How did Sunderland win the Play-Offs

Right then. Here it is. Too young, too naive, lacking experience they all said. Well the pundits were wrong.

They were also wrong about Sheffield United dominating the game. The first 20 minutes Sunderland were under the cosh, but slowly through a series of small tactical changes Sunderland grew into the game and ended up dominating possession and having almost as many shots and chances as the Blades. So what did the pundits miss and just how did Regis Le Bris turn the youngest team in the Football League into Championship Play-Off winners.

Well come in and take a look and do me a favour; stay 'til the end'. There's a treat to finish with. Enjoy everyone.

Fantastic work as always, thanks for all the videos posted this season. The subtitles on the VAR section had me crying with laughter

Yes a few have picked this out. The kind of naughtiness I couldn't get away with if I did this for someone else. Thanks you everyone for the grateful messages, too many to reply separately to. It's great to know I bring enjoyment to you with these...it helps to win though doesn't it.

It certainly does. The humour in your videos really helps, there was a group of 7 of us at the match ranging in ages from 12 to 73 and, one of the great things about our group is we all share a similar sense of humour so the day is always about more than the football and we have a good time, win lose or draw. Your humour very much reflects the banter we have, I think the things most non-footall fans don't realise is football is about much more than the game, if that makes any sense, it's about the communities we develop that surround the game, much like this place.

Keep up the great work, I expect we might have a few more losing videos to watch next season, but at least we'll understand more fully why we've lost.

First Class review and great to hear some sensible and deep tactical opinion

Superb mate thank you, I loved the subtitles in case you couldn’t hear the refs var decision.

Brilliant, well done.

We struggled in the first half, and Patterson made 2 great saves, but the commentary around this match has been pretty overboard. It was nowhere near as one sided as people have been making out.

Aside from scoring more goals than them, we also had more possession, more shots, higher xG, and more corners.
The goal we conceded was self inflicted as well. If you look at the section in the video titled 'Corners & First Cut' then you will see it was completely avoidable.

They did do all the things I asked for in that vid though. And I maintained they were good enough to win, but yes, my sentence there is my confession for me panicking, when he never did. That's why I make videos and he wins promotions.
Great response. There was quite a bit of panic going on, but we are Sunderland. Things like this don't happen to us, and a manager who is a tactician! What's going on? Lampard and Wilder both confessed to having no idea what tactics we would employ before the games. He baffled them, which you ponted out superbly.
Really looking forward to your interpretation in the Premier.

I think it was perfectly understandable going into the play-offs to be worried about our form, because we couldn't be sure it was the rotations or players playing within themselves. We hoped it was. RLB knew it was. It was a joy picking apart those play-off games and seeing the gradual tweaking to get more aggressive until it clicked and we found moments and space. Just shows what a good manager can do and I'm convinced that two thirds of the Championship are pretty poor managers.
