It seems daft to me to get a game on at the expense of player safety. Surely the umpires should have called it off. Much rather call the game off and play it early next year rather than someone get injured which is what appears to have happened.

i would echo the congratulations to greenside who deserved it on the day, but i would also like to echo everyones thoughts on the pitch and the decision to play it, couldnt go to bed again last night as the pain in my back trebles when i lie down, dont want to go through all that again tbh... it was only a tiny little slip on my walk up to bowl, front foot went forward maybe three inches but i instantly felt it go...... the three umpires should hang thier heads putting peoples safety and livelihoods at risk, again well done greenside..

crackin season lads and i think we deserve a good drink on sarrada, although how much i will be able to handle will depend on how many tramadol it takes to get through a days work ...
 
Hard lines lads, it's a shame it ended this way, it is down to the umpires and they should be held accountable. Why put so much effort in for it to end like this. See you's this weekend for a couple of pints to finish of a good season.
 
The umpires should have a long hard look at themselves for letting a game a ahead in which 3 players have got injured because of the conditions.

Obviously not having seen the pitch but if the rain was anything like it was at the stadium it shouldn't have been played.

Credit to the team for soldiering on in the conditions

But congratulations to all the houghton players theu players who've played a part in a fantastic season for us
