He has a lot of energy, gets about the park and can pop up with a goal here and there.

I agree in general, beyond those things I'm not sure what his role is.
 
People have spent over a year saying he is shit,does nothing and is National League standard and yet somehow think we should get more than £400K for him.

About as odd as people thinking he is shit and yet still wanting him to take a penalty at Wembley.

We have some utter idiots supporting us.

£400k for an average L1 player in the last year of his contract is excellent business imho!

Oh well I agree with you then. His attitude is great, his energy created a lot of space but when he gets into space he normally wastes it. He was poor last season and I hope for much more from the likes of Embleton. Definitely the right time for him to go and genuinely wish him well. He will have a decent career but was not good enough for a side which wants promotion.

There's more than one way to skin a cat, you know. As a number 10, Honeyman does a decent job defensively. He works hard, harries the opposition a bit and tries to win back possession. However, when we have the ball he's pretty ineffectual in that position; he doesn't score or create much. In theory his work rate and movement should open up spaces for our more creative players to flourish, but we didn't see that enough last season.

What is it about people not rating Honeyman that means someone doesn't understand how the game is played?

I think the club will have just seen the opportunity to move him on and took it. One of top earners, not willing to sign a new deal and frankly, not a guarantee to start. Sensible to get rid. I absolutely get he has been here as a kid and worked through the development pyramid as well as he could but that doesn't mean so many performances where be really didn't do what was needed can not be spoke about.

I am sure it will be a good move for him personally anyway. Will benefit safc to the tune of 1m plus with wages , fee and not having to pay a signing new contract bonus etc.
