Honeyman to Hull?

Good news for the lad, should never have been made captain as it lead to him playing way more games than he needed to out of position. The shit he gets on here is mental, guess people will move onto someone else now.

Hopefully Hull play him in his correct role and he goes onto be a good player.

Some ridiculous reactions by so called fans on here. Not the greatest player in the world but as bad as people make out. I'm not disappoint if he goes but we will be a bit weaker if he does. I wish him all the best.

We wont be a bit weaker if we replace him with the highest creater of chances in the division over the past few seasons

I disagree we will be weaker. We could sell any of number of our midfielders and not be weaker. That’s our problem. Similar players with similar ability.

He’s been part of the problem for two seasons. He has no quality or strength or mobility . He’s a contributing factor in Sunderland being relegated from the second tier and not getting out of the third tier . We have slept walked through the last two seasons

Very harsh assessment - local lad trying his bollocks off. He’s not the answer to gun you to Europe tbh, I admit very limited, but at the same time I’m unlikely to celebrate his departure. In fact I’m quite sad about his departure - I want local lads and academy products to survive in the team.

He also needs replacing given the amount of game time he got - this one in one out thing works both ways

Don't mind him as a squad player as he always gives 100% but making him captain meant Ross had to shoehorn him into the team whenever he was fit. Wasn't cutting it as a number 10 and Ross persisted with it limiting our tactics and formation. Good move for both parties.

How do you know he's not captain material ? I know nothing about him other than he's not a great footballer. Ross and Ball think that he is and they know him quite well I would have thought.

Because it's pretty obvious on the pitch who's a leader and who isn't. Cattermole was the leader last year of that team. He's the one who you could visibly see motivating the team, speaking to the referee when necessary and generally leading from the front. Honeyman has passion but hid at times. Good captains don't hide.

Jack Ross knowing him better than us means fuck all. He sees the team in training more than us, so should we not question his tactics or selection?

Not forced to say owt and certainly not in such glowing terms.

He's basically a fluffer. Donald said he woukd give him a proper role when he came in as he was too valuable to the club yet all he still seems to be doing is exactly the same thing as he was.

And whether he thinks Honeyman is a captain or not there's no way he's going to throw the manager under the bus if he doesn't.

Edit: He seems very pally with Honeyman as well (presumably because he's known him so long) so wouldn't imagine him throwing him under the bus either

No problem selling someone who won’t be missed surely.

Easy to say from a fans perspective but as he was club Captain is Ross happy with selling him are the players happy with him being sold? They might have considerably different views to what we have as fans. We see him on the pitch once a week they see him every day
